I moved to Seattle exactly 5 years ago today! It’s been such a wild ride, filled with some of the happiest moments of my life as well as some of the most difficult. But it’s been hands down my favorite city to live in so far, so I’m really glad I took that leap. I’m also grateful to have met some truly incredible friends, many of whom I know will be in my life for a long time, regardless of where our lives take us.
Most people’s favorite season here is summer, but mine is definitely early spring, when everything is still green from months of rain, the cherry blossoms and flowers cover the city with vibrant colors, and the sun is shining but the mountains are still coated with fresh snow. As cliche as it sounds, everything starts to feel full of life and promise again. This year is no exception, although I do have a little more sadness as I prepare to say goodbye to the first city that truly felt like home. But even though I didn’t think I’d be leaving so soon, I still feel that renewed sense of hope as I embrace the new direction life’s taking me and all the exciting changes ahead. In addition to the obvious reasons that I’m looking forward to being in Pittsburgh, I just realized that, for the first time in my life, I’ll actually be living in a state where my vote will finally matter, so that’s kind of exciting! 😉
When I arrived in Seattle 5 years ago, the first photo I ever posted was of cherry blossoms, so I thought it’d be appropriate to honor my anniversary with another one I took today 🌸
There are still sooo many places in the PNW I haven’t had a chance to explore yet so I’ll be back soon for sure! And I’ll still be around for another month or two, so Seattle friends - let’s get some coffee or whiskey soon!
Ok, I’m done for now. Thanks for putting up with my cheesy post 😝🙈💗
