If you were to ask what the top 3 most important life lessons I’ve ever learned are, here’s what they’d be...
1. NEVER let other people control you, or get under your skin. Stay true to yourself, always!
2. Being kind to someone costs you absolutely nothing, but has the potential to reward someone with everything!
3. No good deed goes unpunished, be careful.
It’s taken me an insane amount of time and hard work to achieve the mindset I’m so lucky to have today. Learning to control my heavy emotions and feelings during stressful or triggered situations is something I struggle with, a lot. I’ve had quite a few low points in my life and have been programmed to react on survival mode...an incredibly unhealthy, intense, nauseating, and degrading feeling to experience. For a majority of my life I’ve been taken advantage of....until I reached my breaking point and finally got sick of it. I remember it perfectly, calling my mom one night bawling my eyes out telling her how unhappy I was, but...
1. I was too afraid to do anything about it.
2. It was all my fault.
3. He’s going to hate me.
Not one of those feelings I felt were mine, they were ALL directed and felt because of someone else’s actions. When you don’t have control over your own emotions, it’s very easy to be swayed and manipulated by someone who sees your weakness as an advantage. & let me be the one to tell you that you DO NOT have to put yourself through that. Even if you can’t see it, there is a light at the end of the tunnel...you just have to keep on going. Getting stronger everyday until you reach the end, which is really just the start of a beautiful, new beginning.
Life tends to throw us for loop holes, or down the rabbit hole as I like to say. I’ve lost myself numerous times, but every time I come back I’m a different person. Constantly evolving into a better version of myself.
There’s this little voice we all have that speaks nothing but the truth to us, and we should really start listening to it. Those are true feelings your BODY feels before making their way to your mind. Which has the strength to stretch the truth and create a false reality making you question things.
