When it gets tough it means it’s working! The famous saying in bodybuilding is the shittier you feel the more amazing you look. The amount of time and pain and work that went in to prepping for Nationals was something that was not easy to overcome. This was the weekend right before I headed down to Miami. I still can’t believe I was able to attain this kind of conditioning this go around because it has always been difficult for me. The hard part was looking at myself in the mirror and thinking about the quality I would need to bring to win, knowing that being ready still may not be enough. It’s hard to see yourself from the outside when you are constantly trying to improve. But if you believe in yourself anything is possible. - I had No Coach - No posing Choreographer - No Trainer - All Me If that’s not enough to explain how badly I want to fulfill my dreams as a professional in the sport I love and care so deeply about idk what is. I forgot that these @buffbake protein cookies were still in the bag to be reviewed as I thought the kids had devoured them. Having enjoyed the previous flavours I was looking forward to these and glad to say they do not disappoint texture wise they are perfect. Crumbly, easy to eat and tastes exactly like birthday cake with being too sweet. As one of my kids said “Dad they are pretty good” Yes the macros are not as good as a standard protein bar per serving (4 cookies) 16g carbs, 13g Fat 12g Protein. Well done @buffbake for another protein cookie that actually tastes like a cookie. Definitely one to try if you see them in the shop. ❇️Chest Day❇️ Comeback season baby ! First chest workout since surgery and I’m feeling great. Taking this time to slowly get back into the routine and really focus on fixing my form doing workouts with lower weight. 〰️〰️〰️ Heavy weights are always fun to lift and I’m definitely going to get back into it, but this is a nice change that really has my pump going. 〰️〰️〰️ 🔸Flat Bench Pause Reps The focus is on having no momentum when hitting the movement. Homemade corn fritters, something I had in Australia a few years ago for brunch, so obviously, I wanted to recreate ... I served these with smashed avo, a nutritious kale, freekeh and toasted almond salad with lots of fresh herbs and lemon, finished with a roasted butternut squash and ginger hummus. Vegan food doesn’t have to be a boring grey sludge, it just needs some imagination and fresh ingredients and you’re on the road to a winner of a dinner. Hope you all had a fab Monday 🤗
