You spent too much money at the grocery store.
You splurged on a new jacket that you now regret spending money on.
You thought you did everything right, but your numbers aren't adding up at the end of the month when you close out your budget.
You skipped your meal plan and bought pizza for the family because you were tired when you got home.
You broke down and went out to lunch with your girlfriend, and had to swipe your debit card because you ran out of cash in your envelope.
You gave in to your child's persistent requests and bought them a toy from the store, when you were only planning on picking up a few items.
You ate out for lunch instead of packing one from home.
You are working hard to pay the bills on time and take care of your debt, only to find yourself with a few dollars after you get your paycheck.
ALL OF THIS. Every single one, is something that I have done or experienced.
Sometimes, it feels like we fight and work so hard, only to feel like we made one inch of progress...and then to take 3 steps backward.
This is not your time to give up. This is not your time to feel discouraged or defeated.
I can't tell you how many down moments I have had on my financial journey. How many mistakes I have made. How many purchases or splurges I regret.
But what I can tell you is that I am here. I fought through it. Why? Because being successful with my money, being PROUD of the work I was doing for my future, made it all worth it.
I will tell you right now. You will fail sometimes. Your budget won't look perfect all of the time. Your budget won't always be pretty, BUT if you are making decisions and seeing progress that excite you, regardless of the opinions around you, you ARE winning.
You have to do YOU. Even when everyone around you is telling you to do something else.
BELIEVE in yourself, and be confident in your work. Show yourself GRACE and leave your mistakes in the past, and walk away with what you have learned.
One day the work your are doing now for your finances will make you PROUD. Never forget that.
YOU GOT THIS!!
