Doubt. We all live with it. It’s the feeling we get when we aren’t certain about a situation, person, or place. We doubt so many thing throughout our days, yet the most prominent form of doubt is self-doubt.
Self-doubt is defined as the “lack of confidence in oneself and one's abilities”. Based on that definition, we all face doubt every day. We worry about the things we can’t do or the goals we haven’t yet reached. For instance, I doubted myself today. I had not cleaned in a while, and I doubted I could do it. I was about to walk away and not even try, but I realized I was letting my self-doubt win. I was becoming my own worst enemy, so I decided to stop doubting. When I stopped, I cleaned well over what I expected to after months of not having done it. Self-doubt is what would have stopped me. It’s what stops many of us from reaching our goals or trying new things. We doubt ourselves and become our own worst enemy. We are literally competing with our own mind. When people say the only competition is the one in the mirror, it’s the truth. Our own doubt and demeanor is what can stop us from reaching any goal we want. So stop doubting yourself! Don’t be your own worst enemy. Be your strongest friend.
