The adorable new growth on my Jade is giving me all the springtime feels 🤗
We built this plant wall a couple months ago. It's been so much fun watching the various plants thrive differently. Some vine and drape down while others, like this Jade, have to fight gravity to grow straight up the wall. It's so fascinating to watch them all adapt in their unique ways; the Jade shot out new roots to help stabilize itself in the slightly slanted pot.
It makes me think of how we all adapt to life in our own unique way, based on our individual experiences.
Harper often points out when things match or are different and she'll inquire as to why two things might be similar but look different. In the case of plants, she'll point out how the roots all grow differently, how new growth presents itself uniquely, and even how the same specie of plants can have different variegations.
I love these opportunities to talk about how just like plants, or car seats, coloring utensils, winter hats, and anything else... People are all created uniquely and therefore we express ourselves uniquely. I ask her what she thinks of that and I promise you it melts my heart every time she so wisely responds, "it's really beautiful, mom!" It is really beautiful, though, isn't it? & Guess what?! That means you're beautiful too. 💓
