I can’t fully and adequately express in words how much this game night with @dallas_downtown_30s last night meant to me. I’m going to try my best: #longpostalert 🥰It was truly one of those beautiful, memorable, once-in-a-lifetime experiences that felt like all the forces in the universe came together to a perfect standstill of unity and harmony. With the current state of affairs, with forces continuously attempting to spread hate and intolerance all around us, I found myself surrounded by nothing but love and togetherness. Everyone was equal and welcome and appreciated and valued!
🏳️🌈🇩🇪We literally had representation from just about every group ill-intended people try to viciously label, minimize or mistreat..and the outcome was beautiful. We laughed together, danced together, and played together. There were non-native English speakers, different sexual orientations, a broad spectrum of ages, white collar and blue collar workers, people that spent many years in other countries and people that have never left this state. Not a single ounce of energy was wasted on pointing out our differences and feeling divided..instead we focused on the beauty in our differences, our many shared similarities (such as all being HUMAN), and truly being accepting and open to each other.🤗
➡️You may not know this about Meetup..but many people were meeting each other for the first time last night..and yet, we welcomed each other with open arms. That’s what leading with love looks like..and I’m trying my best to incorporate that in every single thing I do for the rest of my life.😘 I think Michelle Obama said it best:
“Right now, when you’re hearing so much disturbing and hateful rhetoric, it is so important to remember that our diversity has been-and always will be-our greatest source of strength and pride here in the United States.”🇺🇸 ➡️Remember this the next time someone tries to fill your head with garbage or to fool you into thinking there’s more that divides us than unites us!✨ at Dallas, Texas
