The feta adds a little creaminess and salt, while the tomatoes and vinegar add a little zip and it's nicely rounded out by the smooth olive oil! Mediterranean kale salad: . -2 cups fresh kale, destemmed and chopped - 4 sundried tomatoes in oil, chopped -70 g goat feta, cubed - drizzle of olive oil (about 1 tbsp) -drizzle of balsamic vinegar (about 1 tbsp) -sprinkle of dried oregano (about 1/4 tsp) . 1. Wash and chop kale, and top with sun dried tomatoes and feta, drizzle with olive oil and balsamic vinegar before topping off with oregano! 🔥 It is simplistic to talk of “inflammation” as a single phenomenon, since it is a complex response involving many different physiological processes. It’sdifferent from the classic acute (short-term) red, swelling type we associated with an injury. Instead, it’s more of a slow burn. Insidious with imperfect signs & symptoms, culminating liver many decades. Heart disease, cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, type 2 diabetes. Just a partial list of the illnesses linked to chronic inflammation. Many questions remain unanswered though: does less inflammation, mean less disease? And if you have chronic inflammation, how long does it need to smoulder for before it wreaks havoc & importantly - how do you douse the flames? . ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🔥 Judging with the media headlines & advice from insta internet gurus, you’d think that if you ate the right foods, it would be easy to fight off chronic inflammation. I recently was asked if I thought there was a real future in anti-inflammatory diets. Id like to say yes. But one of the many complex links between chronic inflammation & diet is simply excessive energy intake - eating too much. . ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🔥 Certain food claims are around anti-inflammatory properties but unfortunately we are only at the beginning of understanding if & how they can reduce inflammation associated with chronic disease. Humans are such a mesh of interrelated networks. Inflammation is essential to our survival. It could be hazardous to meddle with one element without understanding how an intervention might affect other parts of the system. Προσπαθείς να χάσεις βάρος και δεν τα καταφέρνεις;⠀ Σου είναι αδύνατον να αντισταθείς στο τσιμπολόγημα παρά τις φιλότιμες προσπάθειες που κάνεις;😔⠀ Σκέψου μήπως το πρόβλημα δεν είναι η έλλειψη θέλησης αλλά η έλλειψη ύπνου!⠀ •⠀ Αν δεν κοιμάσαι καλά κάθε προσπάθεια που κάνεις για απώλεια βάρους μπορεί να είναι μάταιη.. ⠀ Κι αυτό γιατί όταν είμαστε άυπνοι αυξάνονται τα επίπεδα της ορμόνης “γκρελινη” στο σώμα με αποτέλεσμα την αυξημένη επιθυμία για φαγητό! ⠀ Δεν είναι τυχαίο που την ονομάζουν ορμόνη της όρεξης!⠀ Επίσης φαίνεται να μειώνονται τα επίπεδα μιας άλλης ορμόνης που λέγεται “λεπτινη” και είναι εκείνη που δίνει σήμα στον εγκέφαλο ότι χορτάσαμε! Δηλαδή κλάφτα Χαράλαμπε! 😂⠀ •⠀ Κι ενώ εμεις προσπαθούμε μάταια να καλύψουμε την ενέργεια που μας λείπει μέσα από το φαγητό (κυριως γλυκά 🍫)στην πραγματικότητα αυτό που μας λείπει είναι ύπνος.. ⠀ .⠀ Αν λοιπόν θελουμε να χάσουμε βάρος το πρώτο πράγμα που πρέπει να ρυθμίσουμε είναι ο ύπνος μας!⠀ •⠀ Θεωρητικά ακούγεται εύκολο πρακτικά όμως δεν είναι και τόσο🤨 • Τα παρακάτω tips ίσως μπορούν να σε βοηθήσουν 😴⠀ ⠀ 👉Φρόντισε να έχεις μία ρουτίνα δηλαδή να πέφτεις στο κρεβάτι την ίδια ώρα και να ξυπνάς την ίδια ώρα. 👉Απέφυγε την καφεΐνη και το αλκοόλ πριν πας για ύπνο. ⠀ Μπορεί να νομίζεις ότι ενα ποτακι θα σε χαλαρώσει και θα σε πάρει πιο γρήγορα ο ύπνος αλλά το αλκοόλ έχει φανεί πως διαταράσσει την ποιότητα του ύπνου🤨 ⠀ 👉Μείνε μακριά από κινητό υπολογιστή, iPad για τουλάχιστον μια ώρα πριν πέσεις να κοιμηθείς (είναι δύσκολο το ξέρω, ⠀ εγώ ακόμα το προσπαθώ😂) 👉Απέφυγε πλούσια σε λιπαρά γεύματα πριν πας για ύπνο!(ειδικά αν έχεις παλινδρόμηση θα υποφερεις)😩 Ιδανικά φρόντισε να σταματάς το φαγητό τουλάχιστον 2 ώρες πριν πας για ύπνο (εντάξει δεν είναι πάντα εύκολο το ξερω😂) 👉Αν δεν μπορείς να κοιμηθείς μην πιέζεις τον εαυτό σου. Προσπάθησε να κανεις κάτι που σε χαλαρώνει. So folks, joking aside some people freak the fuck out about seeing animals, you know, as animals. When you cook the good shit, like heads, #offal and other brilliantly overlooked bits...people might walk in the kitchen and gasp. That’s fine. Let them gasp and then taste the goodness later on. People should get to know the food as animal, otherwise they shouldn’t be allowed to eat. . . It drives me to tears that everything nowadays is wrapped in plastic. Roast until the fishy-head is seared and then hit it with GOOD white wine, reduce, scrape the pan and transfer it to a-bigga-pasta-pot, fill up the pot with water and bring to boil, lower it, skim the foam scum, simmer at least four hours.
