Meal Prep for the week 🥡 Days at uni are busy, fast paced and there’s not much time to spend cooking meals🥘 (especially when you live really far away from uni). I used to struggle eating right and I still do sometimes because I forget to meal prep and then I end up having to buy food in the uni or I end up having to go to a supermarket nearby to buy food. In the long run this is so much more expensive than simply cooking meals in the weekend and having them already cooked for the week ahead. I have noticed that I’ve spent so much money just buying food in the supermarket and it always distracts me from my studies (when I have many tasks to complete). On average it takes me about 45 minutes just to buy the food. This is so much time throughout the week!!!! I have also noticed that when I eat a meal in the Uni’s cafeteria I still feel hungry and this would mean that I’d have to buy about 3 meals in order to feel full. Why meal prepping is so good: •So much cheaper •Time spent cooking is less than the time spent buying •Don’t need to cook throughout the week •Meals are already made and ready to eat •You can eat cooked meals (could be hard if you were buying food in the supermarket and didn’t have anywhere to cook it) •You know what you’re putting into your food •You can chose how big your portions are •You don’t waste time buying food elsewhere •Prevents you from overspending (when you go and buy food in a supermarket you might be inclined to snack because you’re hungry and you end up buying unnecessary junk) Lunch 🍴 Tupperware 1 Penne pasta Green pepper Courgettes Mushrooms Tupperware 2 Chicken breast Mixed Spice Seasoning Tupperware 3 Quinoa Sweet potatoes Chia seeds Fruits Bananas Avocado I also do crave sweet foods now and then so I’ll have dark chocolate (or brownies ngl I’m obsessed 😅 couldn’t get a pic cos they’re all gone now 😭). If you’re a student (and like me live far from your University) or you lead a busy work life then I recommend you to meal prep if you’re looking for ways to save money.
