Why are brands like Baby Phat & Roca Wear no longer around? @iyanathealchemist .
Because black people don’t hold value in themselves or their people. .
Instead we run to white owned brands that continually disrespect us and our character. .
If we would hold some self respect we wouldn’t have to scream the white man this, the white man that. .
While they out here investing, we spending money on Gucci. (See how that works) . $6,000 on a Gucci bag is a down payment on a home. Actually, $6,000 is a down payment on two apartments in the inner city. Fix these properties up and rent them out you now have residual/ passive income. The least you would make is 15,000 a year. Multiplying that $6,000x3. .
Anyways, these white owned brands do two things when it comes to us black folks. .
They monetize off of us by strategically marketing what’s trending in our community.
Example: Those Martin themed black power shirts being sold in Rainbow & Walmart. .
Or they gain support from their racist consumers by publicly disrespecting us. .
I mean was it really a risk for Gucci to disrespect us? Look at Mayweather. .
Black people are so brainwashed or careless they will still wear and buy Gucci. We don’t love and respect ourselves so it’s hard to demand respect from other communities.
