my thoughts on the lie to me vid !! >>> it starts with luke in the car on his own. this shows how he was alone and almost abandoned at a point in his life (we can assume it was during his relationship with arzaylea and the aftermath). it then shows all the other boys watching from around. this shows how they were simply bystanders to this relationship. we then see luke singing and seemingly crying in the backseat of the car. the fact that he is in the backseat and not the front implies that he had no control over where the relationship was headed and felt like he had no control over himself at the time of his life. as the video progresses, we can see two cars crash into the car that luke’s in. this shows how the relationship comes to big, dramatic, final end and the way that the car explodes and alights shows that it not only hurt the people in the relationship, but everyone around them. the other boys are still watching from the outside so we can assume that during this point in luke’s life they felt helpless, and as if they could do nothing to help him leave the toxic relationship. later on, we see all the boys sitting on top of a car and singing together. this suggests a unity and that luke is over the relationship. we also are shown all the boys singing and performing whilst we can see the fire of the car crash around them, this may suggest that although they were going through an awful time, they had to act normal and just perform, it it may show that luke was able to leave the toxic relationship, and although it may still be going on in a sense, that he is able to ignore it, and focus on what he loves doing. the other boys are focused on very little during this video but i think this is to show the lack of involvement and help that can be given to someone in a toxic relationship and the fact that the boys are watching him even before the car alights shows how outsiders can often see what is going to happen as an end result of the relationship (usually heartbreak and emotional pain) yet are unable to do anything to stop it because the person in the relationship is so blinded by their love that they ignore all of the red flags and warnings.
