Aerial has been a passion of mine for the past 6 years. Since training to be an #aerialyogateacher I have found a way to incorporate two of my most treasured passions, aerial and yoga! It's perfect 💙 I have taught aerial yoga at a yoga teacher training course and various private gigs... now back in the UK with a hammock and a very beautiful garden to make the very most of whilst this sun is still shining so generously down on our heads 🙏🌞 .
The benefits of aerial yoga are vast. Hammocks provide extra support in asanas that may be challenging, they allow us to ease gently into stretches to avoid strain or injury. They can also assist with postures like handstand meaning everyone who wants can have a go at these more demanding (but fun!) postures. Aerial refines our balance, works the core and creates confidence by aiding our trust/fear responses, learning to trust that we are supported and safe. Inversions can be testing but are brilliant for creating traction in the spine to decompress and release tension. They are also super fun when you get the hang of them and really empowering! However the most rewarding thing about aerial in my opinion is it's fun, it's FUN! And it builds self confidence as we learn to know and trust our bodies and our capabilities.
I have some exciting #aerialyoga plans tinkering away in the background so anyone that's curious about this discipline watch this space! 👀🦅💚
