This is the last ‘explorer’ Sir Hubert Wilkins. An incredible man and according to an interpretation of our family tree, my great great uncle. William Hearst (the 1930s newspaper tycoon) ran a worldwide campaign on Wilkins’ attempt to be the first to navigate a submarine under the North Pole. Wilkins did some AWEsome things in his lifetime... like to be one of the first to fly across parts of the Arctic, to land a plane on drift ice and was heroic in wartime... but what intrigues me the most is his research into telepathic (mind-to-mind) communication... ground breaking (and a bit nuts) at the time!!... He was also one of very few to have access to the Urantia Book in the 40s. He was part of a small elite “Forum” who were privy to it. Whilst I consider myself spiritual and a truth seeker (within my own life and it’s dimensions) I am not a promoter or advocate for any religious, philosophical or scientific followings of that nature. What I love is that Wilkins was an adventurer and explorer of all these dimensions. He experienced, explored, researched and pushed physical, mental, spiritual, political, governmental and environmental boundaries... how AWESOME. What a life! If I share DNA with the guy that’s just a stupendous and fun (but rather meaningless) historical reference. Humans like that belong to ALL OF US. Their awe-inspiring strength of character and spirit is a gift for humanity. I am SO inspired by it that it helps me see beyond myself... beyond the perception of my own limitations... beyond the routine of everyday... and gives me the courage to make changes in my own life and pursue something greater than I thought possible. Because WHY NOT?! We have NOTHING to loose... (except if you’re a solo parent and then sleep will be rare! 😬) but we have EVERYTHING to gain... A courageous and fulfilling life.
