Have you felt that lurking emptiness in your heart? It may temporarily disappear fading into the background of your life at times, masked by perpetual business, or anything that can desensitize your longing for something more... that longing in your heart is for a relationship with your creator God and nothing can fulfill it but Him. Not your marriage or relationship, not your job, not your success, nor your children.
Usually we don’t want a relationship with God because we don’t want to change our ways, we want to live in darkness because let’s just face it, His light is so bright and extremely convicting and uncomfortable when we aren’t living with Him. We run, we hide, we try to push Him away... you can run and push all you want to but the truth is that God loves you no matter what and there’s nothing you can do to change that. It’s done. He is love and His love was wrapped up in the birth, death and resurrection of Jesus for you, the greatest most extravagant gift anyone can be given.
Christmas season is wonderful. The lights, the Christmas trees, gingerbread houses, joyful nostalgic music, but the truth is if we don’t have Jesus in the center of our hearts or the center of the season, we have missed everything.
John 3:16-21 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
18 “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. 21 But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.” #womenofjoy #Jesus #bedeeplyrooted #womenoftheword #graceupongrace #bethankfulalways #trustandobey #faithoverfear #faithbased #faithblogger
