This was from the other day. Did some light weighted sumo deadlifts. I did 155 for a few and 185 for maybe 3. I maxed out at 205. And I was so excited Bc i was 15lbs from being able to finally put two plates on my bar. But life got in the way and I stopped going to the gym for awhile. I was upset Bc i use to be consisted about going and getting my weight up. I just gotta say getting back into it has been the hardest thing. I feel weak and unmotivated. But It pushes me to keep going Bc i was there at one point and i will only get better. I use to weight 95 lbs all through high school and was insecure about how “skinny” I was but I finally gained the weight I wanted and I’m at 113 I wanna at least gain 2 more in muscle mass but this time around my fitness journey will be a little more serious #fitness #sumodeadlift #gainz #leggains #booty #hellyeah #jellybean

Did squats as normal today. 1st video is narrow focused squats. 2nd video is a bit wider stance. My hips honestly felt a bit tight and I’ve honestly been having bad focus on my whole squat form. I think my legs have been too much of a wide stance lately, so when I drive up it just seems like I’m putting pressure on the wrong spots and not actually using my legs to drive up. So! Today after my squats I worked on some hips mobility stuff. Just trying to focus on my stance and foot placement. And pushing off the floor but also having a bit of a hip drive forward? idk? I can’t stress enough about how important it is to develop great form with squats (and all compounds) and progressively get stronger with them over time if you want to see muscle growth... - 325 lbs for 4 sets. My reps went 11,11,10,9 @ an RPE 9 (I should of went for the 12th rep this first set)... - Yes, sets of 8-12 SUCK when squatting, especially when you begin to get fairly strong at them, BUT, our bodies are capable of being put through a lot of volume with fairly high intensities... - Next week will be my final week before a deload, and I’m going to shoot for 340 lbs for a couple sets of 12 (working til failure). I’d like to even complete all 5 sets at that weight without hitting any set less than 10 reps. - I followed these squats with 4 sets of DB RDLs, an 80 rep GIANT SET of walking barbell lunges @ 135 lbs, and 5 drop sets of calves. This is my 3rd high volume meso cycle while in a caloric surplus in a row... volume must exceed my last two meso cycles in order to continue growing. Therefore my workouts must be more demanding... - Next mesocycle, I will reduce my calories to maintain my bodyweight and will lower my training volume. Probably will do a 4 day split and focus on building some strength in the 3-5 rep range... can’t wait! - Who else takes pride in leg day? Had a later start than planned and totally winged it as far as what to do 😌😆Things got grippy to kick training off with some single arm alternating Deadhangs (tried to control my momentum when switching from hand to 🤚🏽 😝) and followed it with some OHP Lunges for quad/🍑 strength+gains 😎💪🏽... Worked on additional strength/weightlifting w/off rack split Jerks+Front Squats sticking to 95lb the entire time. I know I can go heavier but at this point, I am following medical advice so as to not further aggravate my cubital+carpal tunnel issues 😏😒... Metcon was GNARLY but was surprised to have finished under 15mins for all rounds despite feeling like I was going slow 😛... #TransformationTuesday Genetics doesn’t get you out of bed at 5AM to get sh*t done! I wasn’t born talented or even gifted, but I worked hard at what I wanted. And I don’t just mean “oh I spent 1-2 hours at the gym today but really I low key spent half that time taking selfies or chatting with people”, I mean I trained and worked HARD. I pushed myself and motivated myself on the days I didn’t feel motivated. Of course there were days that I felt like I hadn’t made progress, even to this day sometimes I feel like I haven’t made progress. Sometimes I look at old pictures and think I still look like that, but today I look at these two photos and feel proud. I worked for that. Wtf was that @joelfreemanfitness?! That leg day was freaking hard! 😭 I even went to the gym so I could use the heavier weights. I’m probably going to regret that later! 😮 Even though the workout was really hard, I don’t think I could have done it 6 weeks ago. I have definitely gotten stronger over the course of the program. Completing that workout with minimal modification is definitely a victory for me! 😁 at Houston, Texas
