Snuck in 3 sets of 35kg abdominal crunches. . 5 minutes HIIT finisher on the rower. . Fell asleep at 9 last night with no alarms set. Woke up too late to make it 30 minutes to PowerAthlete and home to shower and to work on time so i went to Planet instead to at least get a 45 minute cardio and ab workout in. And it SUCKED. I feel like I’m really struggling to get focused and super motivated at the gym right now and I think a big part of it is taking my LSAT next week and I am exceptionally stressed about it. Blahhhhh. LEG DAY GAINS 🔥😈🤪 hit 225lbs today for 1 rep with my focus being on my form, which I was so happy with !! I took all of last week off recovering my body and not working out at all. First time hitting legs and it felt great finally being able to put 2 plates up on the bar 👀! Calves are often neglected or saved for the last part of a leg workout, this is when you’re tired and lack energy. Muscles can’t grow if they receive sub-par training, you must start training them the way you train your back or chest: fresh, from every angle, and to complete exhaustion . Start your leg training with calves, train them with the same intensity as you do your quads and hamstrings. If you’re trying to hit your upper legs hard and don’t have the energy to do the same with calves, add an extra calf day into your split or add the work to a different workout. The point is to ensure that your calves don’t suffer from lack of attention . Training calves once a week is one of the biggest mistakes you can make. Even if you only want to keep one major leg day a week (quads, hamstring, calves), try adding calves onto other workouts throughout the week so your training calves 2-3 times a week and sticking to the 10-20 Rep Range . Man, I have been flexin’ my biceps but for real ive always wanted big legs and calves. This is something that can be processed within seconds and even during this workout at a point when the pain and exhaustion are overwhelming, I pause to reflect and then carry out my objective despite it all.  I have to not only remind myself but see for myself that pain is a signal for growth. It is at that point I've reached a threshold and I can choose to stop midway and embrace mediocrity or choose to embrace the pain, go for greatness and surpass yesterday's me. I'm climbing new heights, and I have no intention of coming down.  Mission: The Great dropset Smith machine squats ( safety precaution) Start heavy with a wide stance, drop set to a close stance, and final drop set to normal (shoulder width) stance.
