Thought I'd post a mini review of the KeySmart key organizer. I'm going to do a more detailed review in the next couple of weeks but thought I'd share a few quick thoughts here.
I got it for Xmas from my wife. I've been using it since then.
This wasn't an item I was planning to buy myself. My plan was to simply buy a carabiner and carry my keys that way. I was tired of having a bulky set of keys and accessories in my pocket, not to mention being jabbed in the leg by said keys.
KeySmart took care of all of that. It neatly tucks away your keys and accessories, much like a Swiss Army Knife tucks away all its tools. It's just a little bit bigger than the SAK I have, so if you're used to carrying a SAK, this isn't much of a difference.
What I *love* about the KeySmart is that my version (the Rugged) comes with a pocket clip. That way you can clip this to your front or change pocket. This makes it less likely that you'll drop/lose it and much easier to grab when you need to unlock your door or use one of the accessories.
One of the biggest downsides so far is that most modern cars nowadays have bulky keys and key fobs. Neither fit in the KeySmart, which means that you're going to have a key or two hanging off of it.
This makes it a little harder to clip the KeySmart in your pants like a knife. It's doable but it does take a second to organize the key and fob so that's comfortable and doesn't take up your entire pocket.
This little issue hasn't stopped me from using it, nor do I have any plans to stop using it in the future. Push come to shove, I'll attach it all to a carabiner like I planned and it'll just be neater/cleaner than it would've been before.
That's all for now. I'll post a more thorough review including all the accessories you can buy for it, the different versions, and all the things I like and dislike about it in the next couple of weeks.
In the meantime, leave a comment below if you think you might want one and any questions you might have. I'll try to answer them in the review.
And if you have one (or a similar product), leave your thoughts about them below so that maybe we can help other people who're on the fence.
