The majority of my workouts are about 40 minutes max. Pre - Training 10-15 min, strength 15-20 min than cool down. Sometimes I’ll add in some extra conditioning at the end. Here are a few exercises for you. You may be able to see but I’m much stronger on my right leg than my left. If your familiar with PRI ( Postural Restoration Institute) I’m definitely a LAIC. Ask yourself this question with your training. Just wanted to give you guys a little update on my 24 hour fast. ***** First, the fast worked like a champ. The remaining fogginess from my #migrainehangover has officially lifted and I've got energy back! ***** Second, how I balance working out and fasting: I believe it's safe to do fasted workouts, as long as you replenish with protein within 20 minutes of finishing the exercise. This is an opinion I formed from research, but still largely an opinion, so I'll say this: listen to your body. If you feel weak/dizzy/pukey during fasted workouts, they aren't for you (yet) and that's ok! ****** Also, a caveat to that: technically, I do break my fasts before working out by taking 5g BCAAs. I say technically because they shut down autophagy, but you'll still get other fasting benefits. Plus, huge benefit, BCAAs are protein sparing and can be put to use immediately by the body. Personally I've noticed a gigantic difference in my stamina/endurance, and speed of workout recovery. I picked this tip up from Joe Rogan and Dom D'Agostino. ****** Finally, in case anyone is curious about what my workout routines have looked like this month... I've still been doing #TabataFebruary daily. But I wasn't really getting bang for my buck with my body weight workouts anymore, so I got a kettlebell to up the ante. Just one, and I still do it in just the space of a yoga mat, so it's still more affordable than the gym by a lot. ****** Holy. Moley. I'm telling you, you ever want to feel out of shape, buy a kettlebell. I've just been searching for 20 (or so) minute kettlebell workouts on YouTube and following along. Particularly been loving the ones by @bodyfitbyamy and @hasfit_official. They have been totally roasting me, so I've been allowing 2 rest days in between with lots of foam rolling. In March I plan to turn those rest days into some kind of active rest, maybe spin or yoga class. ****** So anyway, my schedule tonight went: 5g BCAAs, "20 Minute Full Body Kettlebell Shred Workout for Strength and Cardio", and then my favorite "dessert ever - @originlabs Jocko Molk blended up with hemp milk and ice. Sorry if this is super rambly lol. Just wanted to share what I've been up to 🤷

Pick your resistance! Bands or bells? . In this sped up clip I show the same sequence, first with a stretchy band and then with a kettlebell. . Both felt great, but different. So it go me thinking...Why? . Muscle leverage tends to decrease as we increase range of motion at our joints. This means we don’t typically generate as much force in the depths of range as we do at mid-range. I think this is interesting to note when comparing bands and bells. . The closer the attachment points of the bands get together, the less resistance the band provides (a slackened band lacks stored energy). This means, in this sequence, the bands offer less resistance as my muscles lose leverage (I increase range). The bands, for the most part, offer more resistance as I decrease ROM at my joints (every time I stand up). . Contrast that with the bell, which always offers the same resistance no matter where it is in space, or whether my joints are working early or late in the range. The bell definitely felt more challenging to manage the further I went into ‘the stretch’. . The band’s small loops (stirrups) around my feet also provide a slight closed chain experience so that the transitions feel more integrated through my whole structure. . In both cases, adding external resistance helps my body self-organize around the load to manage it. . We lifted heavy weights Monday doing Clean & Jerks, then rounds of increasing reps of Power Cleans & toes to bar. Tuesday was a back & tri’s “bro sesh”. Yesterday we did a heavy cardio day ... 3 rounds of 50 cal row, 150 double unders & 50 walking lunges. TRX and KB leg day 1) Cannonball front squats -Keep your core engaged and activate your hips to enhance feeling in your lower back, glutes and hamstrings 2) KB split squats -Be sure to not let your knee travel in front of your toes, this will eventually put too much strain on your patellar tendon and become painful and cause inflammation when the exercise is properly you’ll be able to built strength, muscle and mobility! 3) Single leg pistol squats w/ TRX -Place a 5 or 10lbs plate underneath your metatarsal bone(bone that connect your toes) to ensure the weight distribution and enhance feeling in the hamstrings and glutes and maximize red blood cell flow to the corresponding muscle groups. Keep your chest tall and drive the crown of your head to the ceiling. 4) TRX overhead squats -Take deep breaths while performing this exercise, distribute weight to your heels and engage your core as always! 5) TRX hamstring curls (Advanced) -Hook heels in to the holsters of the TRX, pulling your heels to your glutes will engage your hamstrings and help lift your lower glutes. 6) TRX hamstring curls (modified) -Keep your shoulders to the ground and pelvic bone to the ceiling and engage your core. The movement doesn’t change much from the advanced version. Pull heels to glutes and ensure activation of hamstrings!! This was today’s leg workout!
