Today was an amazing Saturday that began by waking up a little before 6am and getting a headstart on the weekend ⏰ For some reason I've just been waking up, mind going 8000 mph and ready to tackle the day.
I started off editing a video about transplanting seedlings for bonsai trees (link in bio). By the time I finished the video, Kyla & the puppers were up and we spent the rest of the morning talking over coffee - my favorite part of the day 🤗
After that I went and visited my Mamaw (hillbilly for Grandma for those who don't know 😂). It's been wayyy too long since I've seen her so it was great catching up and hearing tons of stories about some DEEP family history - it's just amazing to think how many people & how much knowledge has preceded us. And it's also crazy to hear about the similarities that I have with my Papaw or his Dad or family - it's just unreal that you have this undeniable bond, this common thread with people that you never had the chance to know. Even farming/gardening seems like it runs in my blood, it's like this primal, genetic need to farm - to use the knowledge I already have from generations that dug in the dirt before I was even a twinkle in anyone's eye 👀
We finished off the night with dinner at my parent's house - steak, mashed potatoes & noodles, lots of 🍪 and getting spanked in euchre 😂 ♠️♣️♥️♦️
Enjoy the people closest to you while you have the chance. We've only got one life, so why not spend it with the ones you love the most? Spreading joy, happiness, love, and most importantly, the family heritage & knowledge. I love learning about the legacy of my family, I'm just so thankful that I've begun to document so much more because there will never be any confusion about my portion of history within the Neth family tree - other than people wondering, "why is he so obsessed with growing stuff?"🧐😂
