She is back !!! 🌼 Hairy Star of Bethleem (Gagea villosa), the little ray of sunshine that always starts to pop in the fields around us right after Imbolc. She blooms in these delicate little suns reminding us that we are heading towards the light season and that Nature is awakening. ⁣🌱 ⁣ Working with her spirit teaches us how to relax and let go of traumas and blocks in our energy field. She also helps with rigid mental structures and guides us to take life less seriously.⁣ 🤪 ⁣ What a lovely and shiny litle beacon of light ! ✨

Honoring the four directions. West, where the sun sets and the veil to the unseen is thinned. The death/rebirth cycle. I have had many ups and many downs this year. I am putting to rest a past relationship that I need to in order to grow into the human I want to be. 🌹 Rose 🌹 . . My soul, my Rose Inside you I soften You receive me in your heart I am caressed by your tenderness . . I rediscover my essence You envelop me with your silence You dazzle me with your light You, fruit of the earth . . In the sleeping seed You are the proof, my love, That within me Lies my heavenly realm . . Translation of the beautiful French poem (which by the way, is one thousand times more delightful in French!) written by a dear friend, Richard Délias. . . What was really touching, both for him and for us is that he didn’t (consciously) know anything about flower essences or about connecting with the spirit of plants but when we listened to his poem we had goosebumps because his words perfectly depicted, exactly what It feels like to take Rose flower essence and to work with Rose Medicine. . . That for us, was so moving and further proof that poetry is a powerful gateway to tap into the realm of plant spirits and that true poets, like bards of the ancient times, are keepers of sacred dimensions- guardians of the magic of this world! ✨🌿 . . For those of you who speak French, you can find the original poem in the comments below ! . . 📸: @gitalandas

::Mal aire 👁part II:: . . Tobacco told us, (among many other things!) that if we made a very weak and dilute tincture with its fresh leaves and mixed it with its flower essence, we could make an ‘aura spray’ to protect ourselves and prevent mal aire (to be used especially in moments of overwhelm, markets, crowded places.. when you might be in the company of questionable people 😂). To us, tobacco is a warrior like, fierce and protective plant- one to be honoured and respected, so it made perfect sense that he would be the one to keep us from potential harm. We eagerly waited for our tobacco plant to flower, excitedly anticipating his medicine. . . Once our tobacco flowered, we began to make the essence. As we placed the crystal bowl in the sunlight, suddenly a thunder storm tore through the sky over the next valley. The symbolism of this struck us: in the Celtic tradition, the God of thunder (Taranis) is a fierce warrior god invoked for protection and to receive strength to win a fight. Given that this aura spray was being made with that exact intention, it was such a beautiful sign from nature and a perfect synchronicity for the thunder storm to have begun at that moment. 🌩 . . So keeping in mind our recent experience with tobacco in the amazon, we couldn't believe the luck we had to have our flower essence not only infused with sunlight- but also infused with the warrior like energy of the thunder storm that was taking place right next to us! And just as we were discussing this, an eagle flew right over us.. 🦅(you literally couldn't make this up!) so I think its safe to say this essence is going to make for a kick ass protective aura spray! 😂 . . #tobacco #powerplant #celticgods #taranis #celtic #druid #druidry #druidsofinstagram #celtictradition #celt #celtic #intuitiveplantmedicine #intuitiveplantmedicine2018 #plantspiritmedicine #flowertherapy #floweressences #floweressence #floweressencetherapy #tobaccoflower #herbalism #herbalmedicine #plantmedicine #healingplants #herbalhealing #healingherbs #herbology #folkmedicine #travel #ecotravel #souljourney

Late summer bounty from the farmers market. Tonight we feasted on squash blossoms stuffed with burrata and drizzled with a purée of preserved lemon, garlic, capers, rosemary and olive oil on a bed of lightly sautéed squash medallions. Oh and a caprese salad and blistered padrons. I like to think of flowers as nature's rainbow 🌈 sprinkles ✨ #summerfeast #farmersmarket #playwithyourfood #foodmandalas #foodismycreativeoutlet #eatyourflowers #naturessprinkles #squashblossoms #brandywinetomato #lammas #intuitiveplantmedicine2018 at Oakland, California

Making edelweiss flower essence. Edelweiss are protected so I did not harvest any, but instead set the water out in the field of flowers to soak up their energy all throughout the afternoon, a little trick I learned from @onewillow_apothecaries Inuitive plant medicine. I’ll follow up soon with a write up and have a few stock bottles to share if anyone wants one, DM me! #edelweiss edelweiss #intuitiveplantmedicine2018 #floweressence

D E E P D R E A M I N G . Dreams may probably not tell us about our future. They do tell us about our current state of being, our minds/bodies, our wishes and fears. . Sometimes we may be so lucky to receive message from a deeper self, from the plants, stones and stars, from the other worlds. . These pillows were dyed in ritual. The plants were harvested with their permission and asked to transfer their givings to the cloth. They are printed with plant dyes as well. . They are filled with a herbal blend that lets you dive deep into the dream world and supports your dream work. Mugwort, Hawthorne and Sweetgras connect us to our ancestors and will support you. . We are all fragile little flowers trying to live every day behind the thick brick walls we put up to keep others out, keep up the persona and not allow our vulnerability to show in any situation. My ask of you today is this, if you are comfortable with it of course, find a safe space to be alone or a safe person to sit with - and allow that vulnerability to come forth - to flow. . . It doesn’t have to be complete - it can just be one little piece that you allow out and into the light, like a budding flower opening to the sun for the very first time. . . Doing this practice when you feel so called, over time, you will come to find your brilliant beautiful radiance, that your vulnerability was nothing to shy away from but to be open to, experience and accept and you will shine just as you were meant to and be one step closer to becoming fully and magnificently the true You 💖☀️🌸 . . Also - a big thanks to @onewillow_apothecaries for reminding me of this during Asia’s beautiful #intuitiveplantmedicine2018 course Aho . . #plantmedicine #plantmagic #earthhealing #motherearth #plantdevi #love #yogainspiration #meditation #meditationinspiration #meditations #yogateacher #ayurveda #ayurvedalife #heart #heartcentered #heartcenteredliving #healthcoach #womxnhealer #goddess #lovelife #gratitude #bevulnerable #vulnerability #vulnerabilityisstrength

One of the plants that brings us the greatest joy in our garden- the lotus. Photo by @ericaindenalpen ・・・ It's funny how no matter where you go, there you are. No matter where I am, I seem to take pictures of plants, mostly flowers. On one of my first trips to England, I spend an entire afternoon attemping to drink in the parfume of each and every type of rose in Queen Anne's circle with @laurakatherinethomas . When sharing the pictures from our trip, some family members were less than enthusiastic that my travel photos consisted of mostly close up of flowers- which could have been taken anywhere. But they weren't, and those who were disappointed in my lack of scene-setting photos were wrong. Flowers do tell a story. They tell the story of the place where they blossomed. #lotus #lotusblossom #southeastasia #bali #indonesia #analogphotography #realfilm #umajatiretreat #intuitiveplantmedicine2018 #flowerpower #flower @umajati at Umajati Retreat

M E A D O W S W E E T . in the age of 9 to 19 i had migraine. My mother only allowed conventional pain killers when it got really bad. . At the other times I used meadowsweet flowers. So Meadowsweet, Mädesüß in german, was one of the first healing plants i knew. . Oh the sweet sweet scent of Meadowsweet. I was so happy as I discovered that half of our garden is full of Meadowsweet in summer. Working in my dye studio I can watch and inhale. See the butterflies and wild bees drinking the nectar. . Of course I tried dyeing. It's a wonderful dyeplant and gives rich colours on cellulose and wool. . With this batch I dyed in ritual. Harvest the plant with thankfulness and prayer, ask permission and explain the intention and the need. Transferring the colour and healing powers with the essentials: water, fire, time, air. Giving back the exhausted bath to earth and the thirsty plants. It's still way to dry here. . In the studio, turning the plant infused cloth to pillows I can smell the sweet scent again when ironing. The pillows will be filled with Meadowsweet flowers and other herbs for a herbal cushion. . This is old medicine. The earthy fragrance of the herbs can soothe us, calm us, heal us. . Wool is mordanted top down with copper vinegar and alum. Linens are mordanted with soy, tannins and alum. . #mywildpalette #colorismymedicine #colormedicine #medicinaldyed #thisishowihueit #plantdyed #naturallydyed at Brandenburg, Germany

Spent some time alone in the garden today. Some words that resonated with me that I read, thought I would share. A blessing from the Scottish Highlands: As the mist scatters from the crest of the hills, may each ill haze clear from my soul. As the sun rises and warms the earth, may my soul warm with gratitude for the good things in my life. . As the rain falls gently on the grass, may any hardness in my heart soften and grow moist. As the stars shine brightly overhead, may my heart sparkle with gratitude for all that blesses my life. As the road stretches to the horizon, may my life go forward with joy and hope. . As the bird sings in the tree, may my heart sing with joy for my life. - Awakening to the Spirit World #intuitiveplantmedicine2018 #intuitiveplantmedicine #plantspiritmedicine #spirit #spirituality #gratitude #blessing #motherearth #mothernature #gaia #herballife #playoutside #slowdown at Het Kruidenrijk

Roses are still in full bloom here in Provence. Earlier in June we spent some time in the forest with Wild Rose (Rosa canina). We made three preparations: a rose petal tincture, a rose petal vinegar and a rose flower essence. This three medicines have amazing physical and psycho-spiritual benefits. Rose tincture made from rose petals can be effective in addressing sadness, grief, depression, anxiety or insomnia, particularly when combined with the flower essence, and seems to have a great effect on an exhausted or over-stimulated nervous system. . . It also helps to create “movement” in the body because of its astringent properties, so it can be used to relieve stagnant energy for instance in case of uterine congestion (to relieve heavy menstrual periods), water retention and can be part of a diuretic or gentle laxative formula. . . The vinegar is super efficient for relieving burns of any kind (particularly sunburns). The cooling and anti-inflammatory effects also make it a great ally for itchy insect bites. This preparation extracts all rose’s good vitamins and minerals, gives a fresh and delicate taste to our summer salads and boosts our immune system in autumn and winter. As a cosmetic, it’s also a fantastic cleanser for the skin! . . The flower essence is for us, probably one the best self-care and self-love remedies. She helps us to honour ourselves and creates space to heal our heart. A few drops under the tongue brings an immediate sense of comfort and calm. . . Rose is a master healer, a gentle bearer of harmony. Her medicine nourishes the body, the heart and the soul , that’s why we also love to add a few drops of a rose herbal preparation to any of our other medicines, to strengthen their healing effect. How do you use rose? . . #rose #wildrose #rosemedicine #floweressence #intuitiveplantmedicine #intuitiveplantmedicine2018 #connectingwithnature #loveofnature #neodruid #witch #witchesofinstagram #hearthealing #herbalmedicine #herbalmedicinemaking #herbalvinegar #herbaltinctures #plantmedicine #plantmagic #healingwithnature #druidry #flowermagic #selflove #selfcare #heal #healing #naturelovers #magicofnature #intuitivemedicine

During our Sacred Plant Medicine tour in Ecuador, our group is going to meet an amazing herbalist and medicine woman. . . Teresa is native from the Shuar indigenous people of Ecuador. She was born in a small community where plant medicine was, and still is, at the center of their lifestyle and received all her knowledge from her mother and grandmothers. Following her passion for plants, she became a healer and has been practicing herbal medicine for more than 30 years now. . . Because of her love for nature and traditional herbalism, in 1993 she created an Ethnobotanical Park, where she transformed acres of pasture into a wonderful medicinal plant forest. People from all over the world come to visit her park and learn about the different ethnic groups from the Amazon and the main medicinal plants they use. . . She also gives incredible medical consultations and prepares natural medicines with the plants from the park and the area. Most medicines are prepared upon request designed around the needs of the patient. Ecuadorians from all over the country comme to see her, considering her as one of the greatest medicine women in the country. . . We were amazed by how accurate and efficient her diagnostic and treatment are and how simple yet powerful she is! (She literally gave us a SPOT on diagnostic- by touching a few points on our bodies- within minutes) It just goes to show that we do not need fancy or complicated methods to heal- nature gives us exactly what we need! . . If you would like to meet her, stay in touch and check our following posts to learn about some special offers that are on the horizon! . . #naturalmedicine #medicinewoman #herbalist #ancestralwisdom #intuitiveplantmedicine2018 #intuitiveplantmedicine #plantspirit #herbalism #travel #ancestral #indegenous #independentwoman #femininepower #divinefeminine #healing #healersoftheworld #natureastherapy #adventure #rainforest #amazon #amazonforest #native #healwithnature #transformation #highvibes #energyhealing #tour #nature #naturelovers #greengoddess

I think I first became interested in growing herbs because @kaikrupa is an amazing, intuitive, creative chef, and I loved (and still love!) the idea of being able to grow things for them to utilize in the kitchen. Also, my parents are hippies and I would often get “herb drops” as a remedy to a cold or other ailments as a first response. It’s only been in the last several years that I’ve really come to find a passion for growing herbs of all sorts - culinary & medicinal, and am slowly learning how to use them. There are a couple fantastic queer herbalists I follow on IG - @catalystcommunityherbals & @ergifarmsandapothecary that have been very inspiring. And I also recently started participating in an intuitive plant medicine course offered by @onewillow_apothecaries, who btw is a great ally who openly encourages conversations about cultural appropriation and is aware of pronouns within the lgbtqai+ community. 🌻🌱✨ Last December the Thomas Fire broke out right across the valley from us (California’s largest recorded wildfire), and we watched it creep across the mountains every day and night, feeling utterly helpless. I was worried about some family and friends who were in the thick of it getting smoke damage to their lungs, had read about horehound being really beneficial to lung health, so I decided to make a tea for them, since we have horehound growing wild. I consulted on the mix with @catalystcommunityherbals , and quickly dried the appropriate herbs in the hot dry winds that were fueling the fire. It was the first time I felt like I could do something helpful/useful in those overwhelmingly stressful days/weeks. 😔🌿🍵. The last pic is the resulting tea recipe. I’ll give descriptions of the other pics in comments. Thanks for reading another long post. “Plants do talk to us and teach us. Their language is accessible, or should I say languages, as they speak in many tongues. It is not a lost language, nor is it accessible to only a few. Children hear it best, but are often discouraged. And like any language not spoken often, after awhile it begins to fade. By middle school most children have forgotten the exquisite language of the plants.” 🧙‍♀️ Rosemary Gladstar

T H E C O N C E P T I O N . yesterday evening I went to Kathys (my assistent) place to meet her and @themotheringjourney_magazin More than a year ago we cooked up this idea. Now the phase of conception started and a year from now our baby will be born. . To much pregancy/birth metaphores? Maybe. But that's what it's partly about. Womanhood, being a mother and nourisher, healing and medicine, taking care of land, community and family, create. A gathering. . We're planning for next years midsommar (summer solstice).
