Many artists make the same mistake of not seeing their music and artist profile as a brand... What is branding?
Branding, at its simplest form for the artist, is the creation of trust and the building of a relationship between you and your audience.
THREE MAIN POINTS for a building an extremely strong brand that will engage a larger audience. 🏆
1. A good brand has a great story behind it, you need your brand/artist profile to have a beginning, a middle and an end. For example, take an artist like Russ, his start is extreme hustle and dedication to “get on”, his middle is him touring, going platinum, dropping albums, his end is climbing to the top and being remembered as one of the most legendary DIY bedroom artists ever. You must ensure your audience sees an obvious chronological storyline to your brand.
2. A good brand has a high amount of customer touchpoint, they say that people need to be exposed to your brand at least 10-20 times before they take action. Simply uploading one snippet of your next release IS NOT enough, be constantly in their faces day in day out on as many platforms you can reach them on!
3. You need to attach emotion to your brand, simply no artist will find long lasting commercial success if their audience doesn’t feel some sort of emotional connection with them. An excellent example of attaching emotion to your brand as an artist is a movie 8 mile or J.Cole where he wears his heart on his sleeve every track. ✅
