A little afternoon playtime. I have the hardest time figuring out when my legs are straight up to the sky in this hollowback variation 😅🙈 I really thought about reshooting and working to straighten my legs/hold longer or do something else with it but honestly the perfection we see on Instagram is overwhelming. It doesn’t really need me to add to it. Besides, there’s a beauty in the raw unedited practice that is so rarely recognised or shown. We don’t like to be fully seen. It’s scary and vulnerable. And so we edit. Or we retake. Again. And again. I find moments like this where my self love is challenged the most by my ego. Some days I cave and the perfectionist in me takes the photo again. But mostly of late I’m learning to celebrate regardless of what the posture looks like. If I feel good, that’s enough for me ☺️👌🏼 #aintnobodygottimeforperfect

I’m obsessed with the moon (and the stars). When it’s so beautiful, how can you not be!? Every full moon I like to do a little ritual. The final piece is my ‘let go’ and ‘wish’ lists. I write two separate lists to burn under the full moon. As a general rule of thumb, do not write more than 5-10 things on lists; you need to keep your list focused for you and the universe to be able to work on. The first to burn is the ‘let go’ list. This list is compromised of all the things you wish to release, the things that not no longer serve you in your path and what you want to be free from. When burning this, really imagine releasing everything you have written to the universe; you could envision a stream of light heading from your burning paper to the moon, or think something like ‘I let this go. Now it is so’-whatever works for you. Once this has burnt, it’s a good idea to cleanse yourself of this list by washing your hands in a bowl of water. Then when you are ready and re-centred, it’s time to burn your ‘wish’ list. For me, this list is SUPER powerful, so you really need to be mindful of how you word things. Give your thanks, say what you are grateful for and then state what you would like to work on next. For example; I am grateful for my relationships and I would like to work with you to ensure that I am surrounded by people whom I greatly respect and support on their paths and whom support me fully and respectfully in return, helping me to achieve my path and goals. Obviously it needs to be personal to you but you need to be careful not to write something like; I WANT to be surrounded by people who I respect and they respect me the same amount back - first want is not a good word to use - ‘I want can’t get’ always comes to mind - but surround with a mutual respect could be interpreted as ‘I dislike them, they dislike me, it’s mutual’ and then the universe technically answered you. Burn your wishes, giving thanks as you do, keep manifesting them and watch your lists come true 🌕💫⭐️

Smudging is one of my favourite things to do, especially in preparation for the full moon. There’s just something super calming and, dare I say it, magical about it. I think it might be because I love waving a sprig around like a wand in Harry Potter or something and watching the beautiful things the smoke does in response! Here I’m burning California White Sage. Discovered side crow during my yoga teacher training and it’s definitely one of my favourites to mess around with! If you haven’t done it before, create a shelf for your hips with your arms/elbows being at a 90° angle and then that should hopefully help you stack your weight evenly into your hands. Once you feel stable, float your legs up. You can keep them tucked in or you can mess about with straightening them! Trying to hold this pose with straight legs is hard for me but I’m determined to find stillness in this position at some point during my yoga journey. What asana pose have you recently discovered that you love? Or what are you currently working towards? Keep at it and you will 100% get there 💚💪🏼😊

Today my entire group of future yoga teachers passed our anatomy exam with flying colours. I wasn’t expecting to pass, let alone do so well. This was mainly due to how my day started... last night I plugged my phone (what I use for an alarm) on to charge, but completely forgot to switch it on at the wall... my phone died in the night, meaning I had no alarm to wake me up at 6am. I woke up 10 minutes before I needed to be out the door, rushing around = stress mode (sympathetic mode) activated. From here, my stressful morning continued. It’s hella icey in the mornings where I live and trains keep being delayed, or worse, cancelled. I just made it to the station with a minute to spare in order to catch my normal train, only to find it was cancelled. My journey was delayed by 25-30 minutes meaning I’d just make it to my course in time. Sympathetic mode still very much activated. When I was finally on the train, I came to the realisation that everything was fine, I got out the door, to the station and on a train to get me to class on time-yet I was still stressing out. I decided the best way to change this was to focus on my breathing; deep breaths. I also set a mantra for my day: “I will not let things that don’t go to my original plan ruin my day. I will ace today. I will achieve my goals” I repeated this until I believed it. And here I am. On time to class and one exam down, two away from being qualified. You are in control of how you approach your day. Set your goals. Stay positive. Keep breathing. You can achieve anything you put your mind to.

Alongside yoga, I also love making (and eating) cake. This is my latest creation; a mint chocolate gluten free cake. Not only is mint my all time favourite colour, it’s also one of my favourite flavours. Not the healthiest obsession but gotta treat yourself occasionally! Don’t deprive yourself of the things you love. It’s okay to not always eat completely clean! 🧁💚
