We had a couple of rest days after more than a week of go go go. For us, “rest” days mean no big excursions or heavy exercise, but we don’t really rest much. When you live on a 2 acre farm with livestock and an orchard, even rest days are full of tasks. I fixed fencing, filled holes, cleaned paddocks, hauled bark chips, transported many wood rounds, and ran some errands. My toddler threw a lot of rocks and “helped”. It was a lot of physical work. But being productive feels good and is restful for my spirit, if nothing else. We will adventure tomorrow, and my heart will be lighter knowing there is less waiting for me to get done at home. Some days you play, and some you work, and it makes the play days that much sweeter.
