Double tap if you agree. This outstanding column from The Denver Post focuses on why you should vote NO on Initiative 300. Here are three of the top reasons:
1. Initiative 300, "would create a 'right to rest,' including lying down and sleeping... in 'outdoor public spaces,' which include parks, sidewalks, museum grounds, the Highline Canal and much more." 2. "'Turning public spaces... into campgrounds would present problems concerning sanitation, public health, safety and environmental damage.'" 3. "'Nothing about [Initiative 300]... provides additional resources, or additional support or innovative strategies to try to actually help folks who are experiencing homelessness,'" according to Together Colorado's Cody Belzley.
