It’s easy to feel defeated as you face difficult times. However, when you’ve come out of the heartache, job loss, or tragic event, you get access to the full picture. As we go through things, we see our circumstances from only one perspective. We view the fragments of our lives as the complete picture. However, no one boasts about completing a puzzle with missing pieces.
Our lives can mimic the pieces of a puzzle. You’ve been praying for a God-fearing spouse and end up at a conference you initially refused to attend, only to sit next to the love of your life. You lose a high-paying job, even though you put in 80 hours a week at the expense of your family and sanity. A close friend or family member with whom you’ve just shared laughs dies suddenly. Regardless of the circumstances, we shouldn’t give up just because things seem discombobulated.
When assembling a puzzle, you need an aerial view. You need to be able to view things from above to help bring all the pieces together. The Bible says that God sits high and looks low. God is a master puzzle solver: He’s reconfiguring, replacing, and, in some cases, reconstructing your life. God knows exactly what’s needed to make your puzzle fit together well. God is truly working it all out for your good.
“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28
