What happens to us when life happens? We feel the frustration at all the reasons why we aren’t making the changes we want too. Today's #smallstepoftheday is to start working on becoming more comfortable in a squatting position. Think about it: people have been squatting as a normal part of life (waste elimination, having babies, gathering food, etc) for a looooong time, and a lot of us have lost this ability. I started last year getting into this position several times a day, and while I know I will continue to improve, there has been such a difference in my comfort level in just a year!

Weekly Meal Prep Done for breakfast and lunch. Dinners will consist of a variety of chicken dishes....tonight was a low calorie chicken Parmesan. Consistency is key. We stream our workouts, so we can exercise anywhere we go, but there's something pretty great about a snowy, hilly path along a gently rolling river. We may have slipped a few times, but the hike along the Deschutes was a 3.5 mile adventure. It's fun to have a break in the routine. Keto/Low Carb Chocolate Chip Cookies. . . HERE THEY ARE!! They're so good! To be honest they really only lasted long enough for me to snap a photo 😂 - make a batch, snap a photo, and TAG me! Hope you enjoy 🥰 . . INGREDIENTS: 1 cup almond flour 1/4 cup + 2 tbls coconut flour 1 tbls xantham gum 1/2 tsp baking soda 1/4 tsp baking powder 1/4 tsp salt 6 tbls room temp grass fed butter (we use Kerry gold) 8 tbls stevia 1 tsp vanilla extract 2 eggs 1/4 cup stevia sweetened Chocolate chips . . DIRECTIONS Preheat oven to 350° 1. Mix together flours, xantham gum, baking soda, baking powder, & salt. Set aside. 2. In second bowl cream together butter, stevia, and vanilla extract. 3. Add eggs to wet mix and combine. 4. Add wet ingredients to dry and mix well. 5. Fold in chocolate chips. 6. Chill in fridge for 15 minutes. 7. Line baking sheet with aluminum foil. 8. Roll dough into 12-15 balls and flatten slightly on baking sheet. 9. Bake for 8-10 minutes ( until bottom is golden brown) 10. Pull out of oven and let rest on sheet for 15 more minutes (to finish cooking) 11. SERVE AND DEVOUR!!! . . . . at Colorado

Mom Friend… eating for nourishment does NOT mean you have to sacrifice time with yourself or your family. Period. So many Mom Friends come to me saying they don't have time for nourishing meals. It's either they make a healthy dinner or they spend time with the family. It's never both. Well, I'm here to tell ya that is not the truth! You don't have to sacrifice your time for meals. Before I became a Health & Wellness Coach, I ate out Every. Single. Day. or I made meals that had little to no nourishment. I did this because I was a single mom at the time with a career and time was not on my side. I thought well balanced meals took too long and I was not interested in spending a long time in the kitchen. This resulted in mood swings, irritability, headaches, bloating, not being able to focus nor have the mental clarity to properly mother my child. Even worse, it created bad habits for my daughter. I thought I just needed more sleep or something but what I learned was the foods that I was eating wasn't properly nourishing my body therefore it reflected in my lifestyle. Pictured here is the calm before the chaos this morning...... 😂 20 seconds into my workout and the whole house turned into a circus! 🤡 The cat was up on the kitchen counter and I had to go pull him out of the window... 🐈 Then I had to run the dog off who thinks she has to give out her own punishment when the cat gets in trouble... 🐕 And then the baby is no longer content in his turtle gym because so much was going on so he gets moved over to his bouncy seat... 👶🏻 Two words: SHIT. SHOW. 🤪 But 20 minutes after that... It was done... And all was calm again lol #thisismylife

SLOWLY but SURELY. Left Pic: Week 6 Start Right Pic: Week 7 Start (Today) My tummy is changing a bit. I can see it more in real life, but I think 🤔 if you look close enough, you’ll see it, too. I am just trusting the process. I know magically over night I will not be as fit as I want. It’s hard to have patience, but I am pushing through with continued hard work in the gym. But, a bigger thing that happened this weekend was I went down a size in my gym leggings! Winning! The last (terrible) photo shows my whole body and the left photo is the most recent. It’s that time of the week again!!!Where I prep and prepare my baby fruit and veggies to make baby purée for this whole week. . . Since fresh made baby food only last 48-72 hours in the fridge. That’s 2-3 days the max. So, I put what baby will eat for those 3 days and the rest I freeze for baby to eat when she finishes her baby food from the fridge. . . It has been rewarding to see her LOVE ❤️more her mommy fresh homemade baby food. Then eating baby food from a jar that contains chemicals and arsenic. . . Be aware new mommies and daddies of what you give your baby. It’s best to sacrifice a bit of your time one time a week to prepare your baby homemade baby food. . . Today I got to workout with 4 other women/ mommas over a virtual chat! It’s SO COOL to get to come together and support eachother and motivate eachother. ⁣ ⁣ We’re all in different weeks in our program, some of us had our kiddos present, some of us had done our workout and came to be supportive + get some coaching work done. ⁣ ⁣ When you surround yourself with people who want to be better + do better it is amazing the POSITIVE impact it has on you + how much you fight and work harder to do the same in your own life💗⁣ ⁣ I’m thankful for my online community of women and mommas who lift me up! Getting ready to hit the gym with my buddy at the crack of dawn on a holiday 😆 There was a time not too long ago that I was ready to take this guy in to be medicated. He was out of control, screaming, throwing tantrums for what felt like the entire day. It’s no surprise that I was at my whits end. I took a minute away, Moms really need this to gain perspective, I sought advice from an experienced mom, thanks Gretchen 💜, and I came to some serious realizations. First, I needed to analyze what’s been going on in my home, what are we doing, what are we eating, how are we reacting to this little innocent person? I realized that we had been on a non-stop sugar train since October (it was now beginning of January I think). We were watching a ton of TV. We had been screaming at him to stop screaming 😂 It sounds ridiculous now, but it’s a reality for lots of moms 😆 We were teaching him to scream to get his way. We were not listening to him, but reacting to him. We needed to seek understanding so he didn’t feel like no one understood him. He was living in an instant-gratification, sugar-crazed world of constant frustration and screen time (thanks to the holidays). Living a Stronglife isn’t just lifting weights, it’s mental strength. I had to prioritize my life to find emotional balance before I could get myself in shape. As the Mom, I have all the power, and so do you. I said no more sugar for weeks, I set limits on TV, I asked him questions, I listened. It has made all the difference in this little, cute (now happy) person’s world and mine. We regularly check ourselves for screen time addiction, sugar addiction and selfish endeavors. .
