Update on baby girl:No fever this morning! Still congested but on the mend I think. 😊 Now my update: Down 1.4 this week and so happy about it. I am 2lbs away from my first 10 lb loss! That is my goal for the next week. That may be difficult with easter being this weekend but I'm gonna do my best to say no to temptation and enjoy the people and the celebration and not the food. Yalllll this picture!! So CRAZY! With both pregnancies I had high blood pressure, but with the most recent one it lingered 2 or 3 months after. My doctor told me I needed to lose some weight or my blood pressure would stay high. Before January my BP was running 150s/90s or higher. I’ve only lost about 17 lbs. BUT I went to the doctor today and my BP was... 112/70!! YALL! THIS IS WHAT ITS ABOUT! Screw the scale! By being more active and eating a better diet, I am HEALTHIER. Do I have a ways to go til optimum health.. yes. But THIS IS A WIN! And you guys, I have 2 babies under 2. My husband is a pastor so we always have something going on. We stay busy. But if I can do it... you can! I never thought I could, but look at me. || INTERMITTENT FASTING || or cellular cleansing....have ya heard of it?? ⠀ ⠀ Just finished up a 48 hour intermittent fast yesterday and feeling like super woman today!! It’s such an important part of my life and has really been such a game changer for me! Which sounds crazy because I literally ❤️food, so why would I want to give it up for 48 hours??? ⠀ ⠀ It totally changed my negative, unhealthy relationship with food. The running millions of miles so I could earn my food(what?? That’s such a crazy thought now when I think about it!!), and then feeling like horrible afterwards, both physically because those were not good food choices and mentally beating myself up. The using workouts as a punishment for what I ate. The constant thinking and analyzing every single bite I took. The juicing, eating raw food, spending hours a day prepping food. All of it! Finding intermittent fasting helped me to finally create a healthy relationship with food because I was nourishing my body instead of depriving it. I was taking care of my health instead of obsessing over weight. And that truly helped me to find self love and a healthy mindset over my body image. ⠀ There’s no one thing that’s perfect for everyone but what I truly love about my nutrition system is that it’s so flexible and can be tailored to each individual lifestyle. And over the years as my goals have changed, so has how I use my nutrition. But one constant always are my intermittent fast days!! Because we all have times where life gets busy and we forget to make ourselves a priority, and when that happens I just reach into my tool box, do an intermittent fast and feel right back on track!! ⠀ Not a diet that I follow for short burst and then quit because it’s just too restrictive, but truly a lifestyle because it has grace built into it. ⠀ I never have to worry about ever feeling stuck off track because I have to “tool box” to reach into and a community to support me! ⠀ If you are ever curious about this cellular cleansing/intermittent fasting, please reach out! Every day I wake up and make a promise to myself to be better. Sometimes the bar is low because I messed up so bad the day before😂. But I don't let the "failures" deter me. In fact, they have become my motivation. I become more #mindful of what I need to do to be better. When I first started focusing on my health, I had no problem working out. I loved feeling strong when I lifted weights and getting to the gym wasn’t a struggle for me! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ My biggest struggle however has always been nutrition! There are so many diets out there that it’s overwhelming, and when I would see someone get results from a certain type of diet, I immediately wanted to switch to whatever they were doing because it worked for them, so would work for me, right?! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ That’s where I was wrong. All these diets I kept trying to follow weren’t sustainable for me. They were extreme, fast weight loss results, which meant fast, rebound weight gain once I stopped following it. I was looking for instant results, that didn’t require much effort. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ For me to start seeing results, there were three things I had to do: 1. Find a nutrition approach I could stick with long-term (tracking macros). 2. Be consistent with my nutrition (Sunday-Saturday, not Monday-Friday). 3. Work at changing my mindset and eating habits/food relationship so I would stop falling off track every other week! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Once I focused on these 3 areas and started understanding immediate results don’t happen, I slowly began to see change as I became patient and trusted the process. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If nutrition is an area you struggle with and you need some help, I’ve got exciting news! Grapefruit 😍 what’s your favorite way to eat it? When I was a kid I would eat it with sugar sprinkled on top 🙈. Not anymore haha! Just peel it and eat it like an orange. It's so weird... I lost 46lbs and went from a size 12 to a 0/2 but I had no muscle. Now I've been doing pilates for like 6 months now and the muscles are coming but az that happens clothing fits different and the number on the scale has adjusted a little. I had to learn how to be comfortable in my new athletic body that I'm not used to. Some skirts are a little tighter in certain spots that's due to muscles and sometimes it makes me crazy but then I remind myself being fit is important and that's what's important. It just makes me realize how important it is to be comfortable in your own skin! Quinoa POWER breakfast jar 💥 . .Gluten free. Dairy free. Vegetarian . Ingredients: 1/2 mashed banana 1 tablespoon of almond butter 1 teaspoon of honey, 1/2 cup unsweetened plain almond milk 1/2 cup cooked quinoa 4 tablespoon frozen blueberries . Instructions 1. In a small bowl mix the banana, almond butter and honey until smooth and creamy. 2. Add the almond milk and whisk to thoroughly combine. 3. Gently add in the quinoa and blueberries. 4. Pour the mixture into a mason jar or about a 10 ounce container and top it off with any remaining blueberries. 5. Seal and allow to sit for at least 8 hours usually overnight is best to allow flavors to combine. 6. Enjoyyyy✨ . It can stay in the fridge for 3 days. Just give a stir before eating 😍 . I don’t often have time to east breakfast, that’s where my superfoods shakes come in 😉, but if I do this is one of my favorite things to eat!! . So easy to make,especially if you meal prep them for the week then you literally just take out of the fridge and enjoyyyy!! 2 weeks and 5 days of hard work in these pictures. I was hesitant to post any yet because where I came from makes me sad and where I'm at isn't anywhere close to where I want to be. The transformation isn't huge yet, BUT I am proud of the progress I've made so far. 4 babies in 6 years can really do a number on the body if you don't do much to combat it. Making myself a priority in my busy, chaotic life is new to me and difficult for me to stick to, but training myself to see this journey for myself as a necessity is most of the battle. This has been so much more worth while than I ever thought it would be. And it really is true that when you fill your cup first, you can pour into others'. OH ANXIETY – It’s funny how the mind works.
