I'm totally geeking out on natural, non-toxic alternatives for everything in our home ... and having probably too much fun doing so. 🤓 Super stoked to try this new diy peppermint and tea tree oil laundry detergent, and wool dryer balls for the first time!
We've been making our own laundry detergent for quite some time, knowing how chemical laden most commercial brands are. I've read conflicting information on the safety of Borax (our previous recipe called for it) ... so thought I'd whip up an alternative batch which is Borax free. I'll share the recipe once we've had an opportunity to use it (gotta see if it performs first)! It smells AMAZING though!
We also stopped using dryer sheets a couple years ago ... cause holy toxic. ☠️ It's been fine for the most part without, honestly, but we do occasionally deal with static cling - which is more of an annoyance than anything else. These dryer balls are 100% organic wool, and contain no harsh chemicals that can be released into the air or left on our clothing. 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 Supposedly they will help absorb moisture evenly, which will help reduce wrinkles and static cling. I'm about to put em to the test! I'll add a couple drops of the lavender essential oil to each dryer ball before use, cause I adore the calming scent ... but of course it's totally optional.
Feel free to share any diy non-toxic laundry solutions you've discovered! I'm planning on making a stain remover stick next ... off to Pinterest. #lovemesomepinterest at Sioux Falls, South Dakota
