Ellie sampling the goods! I read a book on nutrition for kids & babies called 'real food for mother and baby'. And the advice was simple and great to develop a good palate in your child: Offer a variety of good, healthy whole food options and then shut up and step out of the way!! Meaning: don't make a big deal about it, and let your child decide what they like (and to try things and change their views constantly). I try to follow this advice with Ellie... even if it often means half her food ends up on the ground or eaten by the dog!! So I love having a ready made pot of cooked grains a couple of times a week to make dinners really fast and easy. In this case, it was brown rice. The previous night we also seared some salmon - simply cooked with some olive oil, lemon juice and salt (it's the best!). Then all I did to make these yummy salmon rice bowls was separate the salmon with a fork, mix with rice and add a bunch of different chopped veggies I happened to have in my fridge - such as broccoli and cherry tomatoes, grated carrot and chopped green onion. I then seasoned it with some fish sauce (about 1 tspn), tamari (which is like soy sauce - about 1 Tbs), 2 Tbs rice vinegar, and some sesame oil (about 1/2 tspn). Stirred and heated it all through for about 3-4 mins. And voila lunch is served! Today we spent our Saturday doing taxes, laundry, kitchen clean up, and scrubbin the baths... sounds so fun right? That was all done before noon 🙌 . It was also nice to make a homemade loaded avocado toast recipe and enjoy each other’s company. We met my younger sis and my soon to be brother in law at an all you can eat sushi place😍🤤 . We were all extremely full but enjoyed stoping at a local #ohiostateuniversity bar @ledostavern to play darts. We are now attending our first rodeo thanks to my sis and her hubs! I have always told myself I create the life I want but I sat back the other day and thought about it, am I really doing it or do I always think about the things I want but don’t actually act on them? @yungattah made this amazing Sunday hash a few weeks ago when we were at the end of our grocery supply 😩💦 ⁣ ⁣ A hash is perfect when you have a lot of random ingredients left. The idea is to cook the potatoes 🥔 through and remove, then the meat and veggies , and finally re-add everything to the egg mixture and cook with a lid. Make sure to lightly season ingredients that aren't naturally salty (I use CAJUN, or seasoning salt).⁣ ⁣ We like to eat these with toasted bread. Definitely get creative with this. This simple and delicious Hollandaise Sauce is perfect for eggs benedict, or drizzled on salmon or veggies! The chef was gifted some lovely Grecian olive oil infused with oregano and pepper corns by a dear friend. Still under the weather but wanted food and easy. Kosher sea salt fresh pepper and olive oil. The acorn squash got a 30 minute head start at 350. Then up to 425 and chicken in for 45. Healthy, easy, tasty and acorn squash legit needs the BIG KNIFE. I found this to be a good option when you’re short on time or...really don’t feel confident about DIYing your own Cauliflower Pizza Crust...I felt it was pretty tasty and I topped mine with diced mushrooms and baby spinach. I sautéed the toppings on the side and added them to the pizza during the last 5-6 minutes of cook time. #healthyfoodie

Oat Banana Cookies Ingredients: 1 medium sized ripe banana peeled 1 cup (100g) rolled oats 2 tbsp honey 1 tbsp coconut oil either soft or melted 1/2 cup (50g) chocolate chips Mash up the banana then add all ingredients except the choc chips. Mix together and let it sit for 10mins. Then add choc chips and roll into balls, place on a tray with baking paper and bake for 10mins in pre heated fan forced oven at 160degrees. Makes 10.

Recipe By @feelgoodfoodie Low carb egg wrap -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ INGREDIENTS 2 eggs 1 tsp water 1 tsp flour Salt taste ½ Tbsp olive oil ½ avocado, mashed 1 small garlic, minced 1 tsp olive oil 1 tsp lemon juice Salt and pepper to taste 1 cup arugula or baby spinach 1 small tomato, sliced ½ Tbsp feta cheese (optional) - INSTRUCTIONS In a medium bowl, place the eggs, water, flour, salt and pepper; and whisk until broken up and the flour is completely dissolved. - Heat the olive oil in a nonstick frying pan over medium . Transfer the egg mixture into the pan and spread it out evenly on the pan. Cook for about 3 minutes until the egg is completely set, breaking up any air bubbles that form. Carefully flip the egg over to the other side and cook for 1 more minute. - Slide the cooked egg onto a plate. To make the mashed avocado spread, combine the avocado, garlic, olive oil, lemon juice and salt/pepper in a small bowl and mix well to combine. Spread the mashed avocado over the entire egg wrap, top it with arugula or spinach, add sliced tomatoes and feta cheese (if desired.) Roll it up tightly and then slice in half. Good Evening! Do you think cauliflower is the new kale?! It is so versatile and so nutritious. Do you have a favourite way to eat it? I love it roasted and baked as wings. ⠀ .⠀ Tonight I am using up leftovers and so we have a jumbled up buddha bowl. I had a massive cauliflower the size of a football and so I sliced it up into 'steaks' and roasted it with tahini, lime, ginger and a spot of maple.
