Food and hairgrowth, part 2.
In my second-last post I said I would share the foods I like to include in my diet for happy, healthy hairgrowth, so here they are. 😬
A great source of healthy fats, vitamin E wich is a antioxidant that helps combat oxidative stress by neutralizing free radicals. I like to put avocado on my ownmade seed crackers and season it with tumeric, pepper and salt. Pepper helps absorbing the tumeric better.
Nuts, seeds and nut butters.
A healthy and nutritional snack, rich in B vitamins, vitamin E, zinc, copper, iron, magnesium and fatty acids. I almost everyday have peanut butter, Brazilian nuts, cashews, walnuts and almonds.
Rich in calcium and some amount of protein and vitamin A & D. I like to include full fat yoghurt and kefir into my diet, also rich in probiotics bacteria to help with gut health wich is important for absorbing all the vitamins and minerals.
For exemple quinoa, buckwheat and barley are rich in B vitamins, zinc and iron.
I like to I include a lot of spinach, bell peppers, mushrooms, brocolli, carrots, kale, other leafy greens all rich in vitamins and minerals.
Rich in protein and iron, especially red meats. Iron helps the red blood cells deliver oxygen to all the cells in the body, including hair follicles. This explains why a defiency in iron can lead to hairloss because it's oxygen is so important for the hair follicles.
Great source of protein, biotin, zinc, selenium, vitamin D. Like I said in that last post, protein is important for hair growth, because the hair follicle is made out of a protein called keratin.
I mostly consume mackarel, salmon and shrimps. Fatty fish I also a great source of protein but also selenium, B vitamins en vitame D. A fish oil supplement like cod liver oil can be a great option.
