Cold rain has an odd allure for me... it inspires me to hit a trail, to go hiking. My life has grown to be a touch too busy now for me to take a full day to drive, hike and drive home. Today, I’m just appreciating the refreshing, cool air that’s meant to cleanse the soul from the parking lot of my gym♥️. Kind of an ironic place to be. So today was leg day and I ended it with a super set of box jumps and battle ropes. Battle ropes are thought to mainly work the upper body but they also work your abs, back and glutes. They’re a great exercise to do if you’re angry or stressed as well lol. If you can tell my by face in this video I may have been a little bit of both. It’s a HUGE stress reliever! I think this is my first time doing box squats🤭 . They actually were better than I expected, took pressure of the knees and allowed me to focus more on my quads. Just be careful sitting down- don’t sway back too much and keep your shoulders pinched back/chest up👌🏻 . . 1️⃣ 10 box squats 2️⃣ 10 elevated reverse lunges 🔁 repeat 5x . 1️⃣ 12 banded hip thrusts 2️⃣ 12 reverse hypers 🔁 repeat 4x . 1️⃣ 12 smith machine kickbacks 2️⃣ 12 elevated glute bridge with abduction 🔁 repeat 3x . . Just a quick note today that rest isn’t the enemy, if you’re not feeling it, go home and come snag in another day💖 . I tried to go to the gym today, but it just wasn’t happening. I had pain in my leg so much so that it hurt to walk up the hill to uni. I knew I had 2 hours in between my seminars to go to the gym so I spent 45 minutes studying then went off to the gym. When I got there, I realised I had left my resistance bands in the changing room. I then decided to do leg circuits with weights and just not worry about it. Then once I did that, I went to go upstairs to the weight machines, and all of the leg machines were taken. I think the universe just wasn’t going to let me train legs that hard today 😂 . I’m so grateful that my body is able to do all these amazing things, that I reward it with nutritious food and rest. Got some leggies up for today :)) 👇🏽 1) open stance walking lunges (killers on the quads) 2) front KB squats 3) quad focused goblet squats 4) step up jumps (ss w previous and die ☠️☠️) 5) box jumps - I’ve had the best few days I’ve eaten soo much lol, spent some lovely time with fam, and generally been really enjoying some time off 🤩💞 off study leave now tho n back to sch tomo so no more gymming in an empty ish gym unless it’s on the weekend 😭

So hey, block pulls were exciting tonight. Worked my way up to a top single at 335lbs! 1st vid is 315, 2nd is 335lbs. I ramped on the 2nd, but for 1 this is the most weight I have ever held in my hands, and 2 it's a block pull. My hands are sore af. Sooo worth it! . . . **For those unaware of what my Coach and husband are doing, they are only there in case I fall back or black out. They did not help me pull from the blocks at all** at The Shop

PROGRESSION. Resistance bands are amazing for progression! I used to do dips on the assisted machine and now working my way to being able to do it completely unassisted! No excuses, back need heavy lifting. What works for me is not the volume, but value... Focus on 6~8 reps heavy weight. And 5o work out back,,,, is a only part you train that day...
