The porridge itself is made from oats and corn with a lot of green spirulina and milk - that's why it got this light green colour. ⠀ Stinging-nettel is really awesome: For long periods textiles were made out of its fibers. In the 2. world war they used it a lot, because there were not enough cotton for all the uniforms. In the periods of straving the nettle-uniforms were cooked in to porridge again.... Der Brei ist aus Hafer und Mais mit viel grüner Spirulina und Milch gekocht - deshalb hat er so eine hellgrüne Farbe. ⠀ Brennnessel ist ja wirklich toll: Lange Zeit wurde Stoff aus der Faser herrgestellt und auch damit gefärbt - im 2. Weltkrieg wurde das dann auch wieder vermehrt gemacht, weil es einfach nicht genug Baumwolle für die ganzen Uniformen gab. Und in Hungerzeiten wurden dann die Nesseluniformen wieder zu Brei eingekocht... Is it fat, or is it poop? We like to think of bloating and constipation as totally different things. But they’re both the result of eating the wrong food. We also like to call people “skinny fat.” Many of us understand the concept of constipation, but we don’t realize that constipation is actually when waste gets backed up in our intestines. It actually causes our lower stomach area to get bigger or “puff out.” Many people mistake this for “belly fat,” especially those who are thinner, or “skinny fat.” Then people who usually suck in their stomach because they are self-conscious say they are bloated when they notice they’ve been “letting it all hang out.” We need to realize that eating the wrong food, especially in the wrong combinations, leads to constipation, bloating, and being “skinny fat.” It can clog our arteries AND our bowels. No wonder we are so sick; our intestines are lined with plaque that blocks the absorption of nutrients from our food, and then we blame a healthy diet for our sickness. Eating healthy food for once allows your body to finally start healing itself, which can be very uncomfortable at times. Tip: the more gradual your healing process, the better. Pizza, take out, taco shops, and fast food are all part of this hectic yet enjoyable life. Contrary to popular belief, I too eat out! Life gets super busy and I am #grateful to have an abundance of easy food options around us. 😁 I also feel better, fuller, and healthier if I get colorful fruits and veggies in my life, so does the family. Last night, I was tired, it was late and I didn't want to cook or do dishes. When ordering pizza, sometimes I add veggies or make a salad to eat alongside, but not last night. I love smoothies for breakfast on busy days, and prepping them ahead of time makes it so much easier! If you haven't tried fasting yet, I say to you WHAT are you WAITING for!? The benefits of fasting are so numerous that it can be helpful for so many conditions and ailments. I have had much success personally with fasting, intermittent and prolonged -- physical benefits as well as emotional. On a 5 day salt water fast, I had periods that I can only describe as a sense of "awakening." It was incredible. 👌🏾 It could very well be the missing piece in your health puzzle. The body was designed to go without food for periods of time so those of us lucky enough to have affluence are likely eating too much, too often. 😎 Some of the benefits of fasting include.... 🦷 Increased Human Growth Hormone. This can accelerate lipolysis and the hydrolysis of triglycerides into their individual units of glycerol and free fatty acids. It's also bone, muscle and organ protective. Over a five-day fasting period growth hormone secretion can double. 🧠 Increased Brain Derived Neurotrophic Factor. Day 2 is happening. I’m a little hungry and my nutrition was jacked up because I slept in till 10 but had to eat at 11 and do legs at 1... breakfast and lunch became one, then I drank my pre-workout and stumbled my way through after realizing I didn’t wear my lifting shoes 😱. At least the scale read nicely this morning, down to 184.0 and now I get to enjoy this smoothie. Speaking of which, I’m actually kinda proud about this. Using some internet research and the ingredients list, I was able to successfully make a mock version of my favorite smoothie from Salud Juicery, the Green Anna sans protein powder. In my opinion this actually tastes a little bit better but maybe that’s because I didn’t pay 8 dollars for this one 😂 if any of you are interested, here are the ingredients and in what order I put them in my magic bullet: • 3 ice cubes • 3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon • 10 grams rolled oats • 14 grams soaked almonds (weigh before soaking of course) • 12 grams chia seeds • 28 grams frozen spinach • 1 frozen banana Then I just blended the shit out of it. That’s it. It’s the small things that matter in life, I’m telling ya 👌

Needed a green smoothie for a change - no wonder after all the burgers and pizzas lately 😂 I’ve been planning and structuring my days recently and it makes SUCH A DIFFERENCE! The last few weeks have been really busy and after coming home I was often super tired and thought „oh I’ll just lay down, watch a serial, and get stuff done afterwards“. But once I do that I’m not getting back up that easily. So instead I’ve been planning in some cooking & eating time straight after coming home, afterwards I’m usually answering mails and running all the errands I need to get done for the day. This helps me so much! I’ve actually been listening to a podcast that underscores the importance of habits and a structured day. Once you know exactly what you have to do and it becomes a habit, you have so much more space in your head because you don’t have to actively make choices anymore. This results in higher productivity, creativity and a better focus. Are you planning your days? If you do what improvements have you noticed doing so? ✨

Good Day Green Smoothie... Hello! I know another green smoothie post? Haha But yes they are my GO-TO for resetting my thinking to be more conscious of what I’m eating and how I am doing with my healing. I’m currently dealing with painful #bursitis in my hips and a calcification in my left hip. I’m happy to finally have a diagnosis to tackle my pain. I have had a difficult time recovering from my childbirth almost a year ago. I did come away from that with injury to my left hip. Then on February 7th in was in a fender bender accident. The lady hit my tow package and it was very jarring to my car. After that my pain and inflammation were off the charts bad!! Plus the added low back pain! I have had days I could barely walk. This has been hard to deal with. I tried to therapy it with chiropractic care and massage to no avail. So finally after seeing an orthopedic doctor and getting an MRI I now know for sure what I need to do to heal. I didn’t tear my #Labrum but it has some damage. I don’t need Surgery!!! Yay me! I don’t know how long it will take me but I know I want to get better!
