(@catapult #partner) | Black Card by Chris L. Terry | initial thoughts
historically, i’m not the best at absorbing or understanding dark humor or satire in book form. like, i can rationally explain and work through it, but something happens while i’m reading where it just doesn’t click as well for me as well as it does in live form. i’m sensitive, probably overly so, and i think dark humor and satire are important, which makes me want to increase my capacity to read it and understand it. that being said, this also touches on areas of social justice and identity, which are realms i enjoy reading and are important to me, making this one feel even more impactful to the books i want to be reading and better understanding.
i’m appreciative to @catapult for understanding my interest in social justice and identity and taking the time to send this copy my way. being a few chapters in, i feel interested and intrigued by that is going to come next. this book also releases today! 🎉
