Did a supertotal at the gym today! I had 20 mins for each lift with a 1 min transition. I stuck strictly to the timeframe and it was very exhausting. FINALLY back on the official platform after a 1 year hiatus learning how to weightlift. πŸ‹β€β™‚ Snag 2nd place - Not bad for a first comp in a stacked 67kg class. Did NOT miss weight cutting at all... 70.5kg ➑ 66.9kg in 6 days. Thanks to @primeperformance__ for planning and executing a very successful weight cut. This was by far the least stressful of weight cuts as I was still able to eat ice cream till the very end and no sauna required! πŸ˜‰ One take home from this comp is that you REALLY need a good coach and handler to worry about warm ups and attempt selection. This shit was constantly changing! Bit of a different ball game to Powerlifting where it can be a bit more predictable. This weekend I got to compete again with some pretty amazing folks! This was my second time at the USAPL Battle on The Border.. and it did not disappoint! Of course, I always finish these events feeling like I could have done just a little better... but that is part of what helps keep that fire lit in me! The challenge of pushing past my sticking points and getting over the "stage fright" and mental limitations I tend to put on myself. It is very humbling to work so hard on something for so long and just KNOW you got it only to be hit with the reality that just because you can hit those gym PRs does NOT mean you can always do it once stepping on that platform. πŸ˜ƒWhat an amazing feeling to finally say I jumped over one hurdle that I have had with my competition deadlifts... It has haunted me with every meet this past year. Now its time to work on jumping over that sticking point with my competition bench.πŸ˜‰ Here is some of the highlights from this weekend...
