And now for some nerdy some gear talk... I played the Boss Katana 50 with a Studio Orchestra the other night, and it certainly held its own. It was pretty loud and was able to cut through the mix with no microphone and the power setting at just 25 watts (volume knob in the guitar slightly rolled back). One song required an acoustic sound, so I put the amp at 50 watts. Another song required a distorted guitar, so I dropped it to 0.5 watts (volume knob on the guitar turned all the way up) and it blended with the group nicely.
My only gripe was the FS-6 pedal. I felt like it kept holding things back for me when switching between the four banks (I'm more than likely going to sell it for a cheaper pedal like a Hosa model I found online), but overall, The Katana 50 did not disappoint. I definitely am looking to get a Katana Head (with a nice 2x12 cabinet) or Artist next, these amps are so freggin' good! Yeah they may not be tube amps, but they're just as impressive. I have so much fun dialing in tones with this amp, they're really versatile.
And yes, I still have the Katana chart from when I first purchased it. I use it for reference, lol.
