Hello, my name is Annica Draper, and I was born and raised in Trois-Rivières, Québec, who now lives in Toronto, Ontario. I'm attending my first year of culinary management at George Brown College.
My previous experience in the industry is rather minimal, but I have worked for roughly four years before attending school. I started working in the kitchen at a ski hill, named Brimacombe, this was the start up to my career. There, I learned the very basics of how to run within the kitchen, and I began to learn my basic knife skills.
I then began working at a summer camp, called Camp Oochigeas, where I spent two summers properly learning how to prep and further putting my skills to the test.
After my last summer working at camp, I started a co-op placement for my high school, I worked at East Side Mario's. I spent a semester doing plenty of prep work, and I even managed to do some night shifts as apart of my co-op. After my co-op had finished, I was offered a job placement to work.
A few months pass at East Sides, and this further led me to shift job placements at a smokehouse. I started working at Strack's Smokin' Grill the summer before school started. There, I became the line cook, and still, I was doing a lot of prep during this time.
