When you Miss a Workout🤭 (By @cartergood ) - This weekend, one of my online clients attended a friend’s wedding. ⠀ She was excited, of course, but she was low-key stressing about the whole event too... ⠀ Food-wise, she felt solid. ⠀ By this point, we’ve spent months developing eating habits & strategies for situations just like this. ⠀ Her stress came from not knowing if she’d have the opportunity to work out during her three days away. ⠀ So I told her to forget working out altogether. 5 Tips To Build Bigger Arms by @trainwithcarsen  _ Forget about how heavy the weight is, focus on squeezing the muscle⚡️- look, your body doesn’t know how much weight you’re throwing around. Your body only recognizes tension. Leave your ego at the door and use a weight where you can actively squeeze the muscle throughout.  _ Control the negative⚡️- the eccentric contraction(the lowering phase) of a lift is CRUCIAL to building muscle. Stop worrying just about flinging the weight up, and start to control the negative. Take 3-seconds to lower the weight back to the starting position. _ Stop annihilating Arms on 1-day⚡️- doing “Arm day” once a week is not the most effective approach to building bigger arms. Rather than destroying your arms with every exercise in the book on one day, add in arm work 2-3x/week to continuously stimulate muscle protein synthesis and progress your lifts.  _ High rep training for the pump⚡️- if you’ve been solely focused on curling heavy weight for lower repetitions, man, you’re leaving a TON of muscle on the table. High rep training is an excellent tool to pump lots of blood into your arms, creating metabolic stress (key process to stimulate muscle growth). Lower the weight and pump out 20-reps. You’ll feel this one. _ Work in different exercise variations⚡️- you’re limiting your potential by not expanding your horizons. Simple bicep curls and Tricep extensions will only get you so far. Start to work in different variations to start to target the different muscle heads. Change up your angles to shift the tension. I don’t care what anyone says... . Your health is THE most important thing you have. 🤷🏻‍♂️ . I’m not referring to just the way you look, but your overall health. . For example when I get bad sleep, I’ll still wake up and do what I need to do and have a “productive” day. . It won’t compare to when I take care of my sleep and do what I need to do, it’s a night and day difference. 😴 . When you eat to fuel your body versus the “oh I eat whatever” mentality, I’m sorry do that for a while and you won’t be at your best. 🤷🏻‍♂️ . Doesn’t mean you won’t make the progress, but you’re sacrificing a lot more than you can imagine. . Do both. . Work hard, absolutely. . AND, . Take care of yourself. THOR BODY! by @jakovljevicfitness _ ✅1. Wide back- To build wide and thick back, you need to have balanced workout program which includes pull variations and row variations. Do 15-25 sets for back per week and rep range should be 6-20. _ ✅2. Upper chest- Get strong on the bench press for overall chest and upper body growth but rest of your chest workout needs to be incline focused. Do incline bench press, incline DB bench press, incline flys.. do 15-20 sets per week and 6-20 reps per set. _ ✅3. Huge guns- Best Thor's bodyparts are biceps and triceps. This is huge tip: You need to hit your arms directly! Isolate your biceps with 12-20 sets per week and your triceps with 12-20 sets per week. _ ✅4. Slim legs- If your goal is Thor's physique, you don't need huge legs. You can have only one leg day per week and focus on getting strong on squats and deadlifts with some isolation work (ex. Lunges, Goblet squat, extebsions...). _ ✅5. Lower bodyfat- You need to lose some bodyfat to reveal all of this when you are done with building phase. MALE vs FEMALE EXERCISES by @musclemosnters - Here's the thing, whether it comes to building muscle, there are no exercises that are specific to one gender only. For example, oftentimes I see women in the gym avoiding heavy compound lifts, in favor of doing a lot of lighter accessory exercises. If your goal is to build muscle, then compound lifts are going to be your best friend. They allow for a great deal of load to be placed on a muscle group, with mechanical tension being one of the best drivers of muscle growth. - I also often see men avoiding exercises to target their glutes, particularly the hip thrust. Bret Contreras, PhD (@bretcontreras1) will be the first to attest to the fact that all men should be thrusting, particularly if they want a bigger squat and subsequently bigger set of legs. - The bottom line is, all exercises have their place in a given training program and that you shouldn't avoid any due to the misconception that it is a gender specific exercise. Nothing better then getting heart rate up away from the rain right at home. 15 Squat to Alt Lunge Jump 15 Touchdowns to Criss Cross 15 R Lunge to Plyo Knee Drive 15 L Lunge to Plyo Knee Drive 15 Squat Jumps 15 (4) Mountain Climbers to Plank Jack X3-5 Do these workout moves anywhere from 3 to 5 times depending on your fitness level to get a good sweat. Workout will be anywhere from 15-30 minutes long depending on how many rounds you do. Squat to Alt Lunge Jump for one count is a 1 Squat and 1 Lunge. 5 Tips To Build Bigger Arms by @alex079495 Forget about how heavy the weight is, focus on squeezing the muscle⚡️- look, your body doesn’t know how much weight you’re throwing around. Your body only recognizes tension. Leave your ego at the door and use a weight where you can actively squeeze the muscle throughout. _ Control the negative⚡️- the eccentric contraction(the lowering phase) of a lift is CRUCIAL to building muscle. Stop worrying just about flinging the weight up, and start to control the negative. Take 3-seconds to lower the weight back to the starting position. _ Stop annihilating Arms on 1-day⚡️- doing “Arm day” once a week is not the most effective approach to building bigger arms. Rather than destroying your arms with every exercise in the book on one day, add in arm work 2-3x/week to continuously stimulate muscle protein synthesis and progress your lifts. _ High rep training for the pump⚡️- if you’ve been solely focused on curling heavy weight for lower repetitions, man, you’re leaving a TON of muscle on the table. High rep training is an excellent tool to pump lots of blood into your arms, creating metabolic stress (key process to stimulate muscle growth). Lower the weight and pump out 20-reps. You’ll feel this one. _ Work in different exercise variations⚡️- you’re limiting your potential by not expanding your horizons. Simple bicep curls and Tricep extensions will only get you so far. This can lead to the person’s sense of self-esteem and self-worth being defined by the way they look. Binge eating involves two key features: 👉Eating a very large amount of food within a relatively short period of time (e.g. within two hours) 👉Feeling a sense of loss of control while eating (e.g. feeling unable to stop yourself from eating) **Compensatory Behaviours** These behaviours are used as a way of trying to control weight after binge eating episodes. They include: 👉Vomiting 👉Misusing laxatives or diuretics 👉Fasting 👉Excessive exercise Use of any drugs, illicit, prescription and/or ‘over the counter’ inappropriately for weight control (inappropriate use refers to use that is not indicated and for which the drug has not been prescribed) A person with bulimia nervosa can become lost in a dangerous cycle of out of control eating and attempts to compensate which can lead to feelings of shame, guilt and disgust.
