For day 3 I am want to highlight how happy I am that me and my partner found such an awesome sanctuary to workout in @justmovesl 🏋🏿‍♂️🏋🏾‍♀️💪🏿😍 . . We usually grumble and complain about having to go lift, (because we're lazy 😂🤣😂😏) but always feel good about it when we get there, because of the love we receive from the kick ass staff members at our location 👌🏿😊 . . I want to highlight one of the staff members there for a second because she's a really cool conscious being who I'm happy that mother 🌍 has made! @amiekhelm truly goes above and beyond when it comes to how she treats people around her, and is a shining example of not just how to treat a customer, but more importantly your fellow inhabitants on this planet of ours . . I'm happy that I have a place to train my body, mind, and spirit that is also filled with good peeps. Also, the music be 🔥🔥👨🏿‍🚒🚒🔥🔥. It's not particularly fun to lift in a 🤢🤮 and depressing atmosphere ESPECIALLY when you already don't want to go. Refine . As yesterday’s programming included ring muscle up practice, I figure I’d spend a little bit of extra time practicing my positions and kip before my own WOD. As I mentioned to the evening classes at @MarvelousPerformance, staying tight in your shapes will allow you to be more efficient in your gymnastic kipping. . Many times including myself will fall into the nuance of wanting to get the extra rep regardless of how sloppy my technique may be. In a sense when it comes to competition, sometimes you just have to get the work done 🤦🏾‍♀️ . In practice, you stop when your technique becomes inadequate because the improper technique will carry over and bleed into our other movements. . As an example, if you want a tighter kip for more force production, take that little extra time to practice the simplified movements ~ hollow rocks, arch holds/rocks, the ninja hip extension, the turnover on lower rings. . Don’t sell yourself short, and don’t settle when you finally have it. Continue to sharpen and refine your movements. . I didn’t get the muscle up over night (but @ranier will argue with me on that 😉), it took commitment, time, a bunch of EMOMs, and grit to get it to where I currently have it. . Stay the course.
