#Repost @topgymtips • • • • • If you are doing a push/pull/legs split, you really have lots of options to choose from when it comes to your exercises. Here's a great list of exercise options you can do for each day. Here's how you can set it all up to make the perfect PPL routine for yourself:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ First, pick 2-3 exercises per body part for each of the push, pull and leg days. Make sure they're exercises you enjoy. Next, make sure you have 1 strength day and 1 hypertrophy day for each section for the week. For strength, focus on using the 1-8 rep range, and the 6-15 rep range for hypertrophy. The exercises don't need to be the same for strength and hypertrophy, but some can be the same if you like. No obstante, si te pesas todos los días en ayunas te darás cuenta que tu peso no es el mismo, y esto puede deberse a la retención de líquidos y no a la acumulación de grasa. Por esto no se sugiere pesarse a diario ya que uno puede mal interpretar los resultados. . . Estos son algunos motivos que pueden hacer que el número de la balanza haya subido de un día para el otro: . . 1) Heces acumuladas. 2) Medicación. 3) Retención de líquidos por inflamación por el entrenamiento. 4) Retención de líquidos por la menstruación. 5) Retención de líquidos por una ingesta elevada en sodio, ya sea como sal o en alimentos. 6) Retención de líquidos por variaciones hormonales, ya sea por estrés u otros motivos. 7) Retención de líquidos por ingesta de carbohidratos: Los carbohidratos se almacenan como glucógeno en el hígado y en los músculos, y el glucógeno puede retener entre 3 a 4 veces su peso en líquido. . . ¡Ya sabes! A la siguiente vez que te peses y el número de la balanza suba, no te sientas mal y más bien reflexiona sobre cuál de estos motivos pudieran haber causado que retengas líquidos. Las fajas: milagro o estafa??? Creo que todas, sin excepción, nos hemos creído alguna vez el cuento de la faja. Las vemos a diario por todos lados. Las celebridades juran y perjuran que es su secreto para tener una cinturita de avispa y un abdomen plano. 🤭 Sé que la faja es uno de los métodos más “sencillos “ y usados por las mujeres cuando quieren tener un abdomen plano instantáneamente. Yo misma la usé cuando hacía lo imposible para alcanzar mi cuerpo soñado, pero cometí muchas equivocaciones. Por eso realice este post para explicarte los pros y las contras de usar fajas y, además derrumbar algunos mitos. PROS: •Pueden contribuir a que la figura luzca bien bajo la ropa. •Crean una “ilusión Optica “ que te muestra más delgada, solo porque estás contenida. •Te puede ayudar a moldear la figura y a mantener la postura más erguida. CONTRAS: •Las fajas no están diseñadas para adelgazar o bajar de peso. •No ayudan a quemar grasa y mucho menos a eliminar esos gorditos molestos. •Jamás te ayudará a lograr lo que solo se consigue con una alimentación sana, balanceada y haciendo ejercicio; un vientre plano. MITOS Y VERDADES 1. MITO: Las fajas ayudan a quemar grasa.🙄 LA VERDAD : No hay estudios que demuestren su capacidad para adelgazar. Según expertos, solo tienen cualidades moldeadoras temporales, cuando se suspende su uso el cuerpo vuelve a tomar su forma. 2. Mito: hacer ejercicio con faja maximiza el proceso de adelgazar? 🙄 LA VERDAD: Las fajas solo te ayudarán a perder un poco más de líquidos almacenados en el cuerpo mientras te ejercitas ( los cuales recuperas de inmediato al re hidratarte).🥺 3. Mito: Las fajas ayudan a fortalecer los músculos del abdomen? 🙄 LA VERDAD: Al contrario de lo que muchos piensan, los músculos pueden debilitarse y crear dependencia por el apoyo que les da la faja para mantener la postura. *continued from last post* . after surgery, i lost all my motivation to do anything due to an insane amount of muscle loss. finally, i got some motivation from the way i looked and decided to do something about it. i picked up CrossFit again, and regained a lot of strength and muscle. on occasion i would workout with friends in the gym on campus at Mercer. that’s what sparked my interest in doing my “own thing”. with CrossFit, the workout is already programmed, so all you have to do is go in, do the workout, die a lil, and go home. but as most people know, at a “normal” gym as i call it, you have to go in with a plan. that was the biggest struggle ever for me. i had no idea how to use the equipment, what exercises to do, how many reps to do, and what weight or resistance to use. in the beginning i felt discouraged, but eventually learned how to do things and what benefit i would gain from doing them. after figuring my shit out, i made this page to help keep track of my workouts. then, it turned into something i honestly didn’t think i would, which is a good thing!! i’m in school to become a physical therapist because i want to help people get better, and that’s another reason i created this page: i want to HELP people get better, live healthier lifestyles, and do things they didn’t think they could do. . i’m extremely passionate about what i’m doing, and want to reach and help as many people as possible. so, there’s a little bit about me. sorry it was so long, but i figured i’d share my “testimony” 😇

Sit-ups impose approximately 730lb (3300N) of compression on the low back (Axler and McGill, 1997). According to the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) repetitive loading at or above this level is linked to higher rates of injury in workers. . According to McGill (2012) a full curl (elevating the head and shoulders far off the floor, A + C) is closer to replicating the higher stresses of the sit-up. . The intention is to activate the rectus muscle and not produce lumbar spine motion. . The way to prevent high loads on the lower back is to perform crunches as in the 3rd variation (Example C). . The focus of flexion in this variation (partial curl-up) is limited to the thoracic spine. . For endurance or stability workout, hold 6-7 seconds (isometric contraction). The intention is to activate rectus abdominis without producing lumbar spine motion. . ⚠️ LONG POST ⚠️ . today i got asked WHY i do what i do, which isn’t something i get asked very often, so i’m going to tell you a little bit about myself & my fitness journey from the beginning . my name is savannah & i’m 21 years old. i first got involved in a sport when i was 7, and that sport was cheerleading. i know some people don’t think that cheer is a sport but you’re wrong end of story let’s move on. i cheered from ages 7-19, and 9 of those years were competitive cheerleading on top of sideline cheer. i started out cheering competitively in 5th grade until my freshman year of college. in 5th-10th grade, then 12th grade, i cheered on my school team and an allstar cheer team (for those of you who don’t know the difference, allstar cheer is basically like a travel team for cheerleading). i live in pike county, ga (an hour south of ATL and 2 hours south of alpharetta/johns creek). my junior and senior years of high school i was active in my school (water girl (haha) for my HS my junior year and cheered for my HS again my senior year... jr year i was burned out on school cheer so i took a break). on top of these commitments my mom drove my sister and i to alpharetta 5 times a week. by the summer going into my senior year i was cheering and practicing 7 days a week and that lasted for a year and a half. unfortunately, during my last year of school cheer i had an extremely bad high ankle sprain. it was so bad that it happens to 3% of people with high ankle sprain injuries. i went to PT, but ignored the injury once my PT was over. my ankle continued to hurt, but i still did the things i loved. my senior year (after cheer season ended) i started doing CrossFit and did that for about 2 years (sr year in HS to freshman year in college). i competed in a CrossFit comp and that was the most difficult thing i’ve ever done in my entire life. no exaggeration. once i graduated high school i went to college at Mercer University in macon, ga and cheered for a year there. my ankle still bothered me, so i finally went to the dr again and was told i needed surgery. december 2017 i had surgery on my ankle and was in a cast for 6 weeks, then a boot for 6 weeks . IGNORANCE IS NOT BLISS . Instead, it’s a gift. If you’re humble enough, ignorance is an opportunity: to learn, to better yourself, to build on where you lack. The trick is you have to put your ego to the side. Rather than reacting defensively to being presented with something you don’t know, you have to put your pride to the side and give yourself over to growth rather than wanting to be right. . One of the greatest gifts you can get is the realization you’re wrong, because it gives you the opportunity to be right. Rather than get upset you were wrong or get defensive and pretend you weren’t, be happy you can now seek the truth. Even if it means being exposed, isn’t it always better to go from not knowing to knowing? There is no shame in being wrong, but there is disgrace in realizing you are and turning your back to what is right. Do not remain steadfast in your beliefs, but instead evolve with the new information. . I struggled with this for a long time because I always wanted to be right. But the more I’ve delved into this health and fitness industry, and the deeper my knowledge has come, the more I’ve realized this rabbit hole doesn’t stop. The information I can learn to help me and my clients is virtually endless and it’s always shifting — and so there will always be things I don’t know or things I wasn’t right about at first. And that excites me.
