#throwbackthursday • Here’s a little throwback to my second ever 10k back in May. This was when I was just getting into running - I’d set a PB of around 51 minutes in my first 10k, and had to give it everything to beat it in the Manchester 10k! I managed to run a time of 48:11. 😍 Unfortunately I haven’t done a 10k race since... 🤨 • I really want to do another 10k soon and try and get under 45 minutes - does anyone have any suggestions of any upcoming 10k races? I’m willing to travel! 🚞 • It’s been a while since I started running in and it feels crazy that I went from just about managing a 10k to training for a full marathon 🥵 The year has been full of surprises. I love quick ways to break my fast. I shared a demo on stories yeaterday and it is in my highlights under good. This is a berry oatmeal. Gluten free oats, almond milk, berries, cinnamon, vanilla, and stevia. So good. For those who know me, they know my 2nd love (after Harry Potter) is protein bars. Tasty snacking, cures a chocolate craving and tops up your protein intake. If you’re looking for weight loss, opting for protein as a snack isn’t a bad way to go. Admittedly there’s lower calorie snacks to chose from. But, if you’re taking into consideration the protein content, convenience AND taste/ texture, then they’re an ideal shout. Here’s my top 5: 1. Warrior bar - BEASTY bars, hard to find however. Either the salted caramel or white choc for me. 2. Grenade - VAST selection of flavours and available pretty much everywhere. Peanut Nutter or Cookie Dough are the ones! 3. Barebell - SOFT & nutty flavours. The white chocolate one is out of this world. And if you’re a fan of mint/ dark chocolate, try that one out! 4. PhD smart - BIG bars, with great flavours. Again, grab them at most places. 5. Battle bites - MESSY bars that get everywhere. Nevertheless, funky flavours (inc carrot cake) if you fancy something different. “KEEP YOUR SQUATS low, and your standards HIGH” It’s time to get sh*t back on track and start posting my workouts again. Let’s take advantage of #tbt to post my most saved workout to date and keep your 👀 out for new routines starting next week. About this workout: ✨360o Jump squat - 1min. (Stay forward if you get dizzy 😵) ✨Squat Jack w/ Resistance -1min ( try not to lose the resistance as you come up) ✨Ski jumps -1 min (make sure to shift side to side in each landing, land on heels and soft knees) ✨Resistance shuffle w/ squat jump - 8 total (as you shuffle keep feet apart enough to feel resistance and same as you jump) ✨Lunge to single knee lift (Plyo style) 12 each side ✨Wall squat abduction w/ resistance - to fatigue (keep joints stacked and keep weight in heels not on back/wall) ✨ Single arm resistance row -16 each side (make sure to use medium to heavy resistance here and keep your neck/spine aligned) ✨Arm abduction with resistance -24 (keep mini band around wrists and engage your core ) This circuit could be done 2-3x and the only break should be in between sets to put on/take off band (not exceeding 30secs).
