What makes YOU happy my friend? Have you ever truly stopped to think about the answer? Not the happiness you feel when spouses, loved ones, our children, or friends are happy. Of course that makes us happy when we make others happy. It makes us happy when we do and give and help others. It makes us happy to watch our loved ones succeed. It makes us happy when all are happy right?! But I still ask, what makes your heart happy for you? If all of that was taken away, what do you love to do for YOU that makes YOU happy? I have come to realize and understand that self contentment is huge in this life. And yet, it's the last thing we focus on in the crazy busy of life. The truth is, I had the hardest time answering this question in my counseling session. Everytime I would answer my counselor would say....but Shannon what do you love that you could do on your own if you were the only person on the planet that would make YOU happy? How crazy is it that I could not come up with an answer and moreso was afraid to state the simple things I love for fear that it wouldn't be enough? You see....I love this! Waking up, walking outside, and listening to the early morning hush before others awake. I love to take this time to pray. I love to drink my coffee and actually taste and savor it. And I love to just BE! Friend, you have to do more of what makes you happy. It is the key to contentment, happiness, and overall joy in life. If you lack this integral aspect, you will never truly be happy with you or your life. Read that again! Self contentment and happiness are the keys to unlocking your overall healthy you. Never underestimate this nor apologize for it. Self love talk: Stop worrying about other people understanding you. Start focusing on what makes you happy and your soul at peace. You are your own biggest commitment. Start loving your flaws, awkwardness, imperfections, your weirdness, your intensity, your EVERYTHING! Life becomes so much more fulfilling when you are simply yourself. The world keeps spinning Whether people understand or like you or not. I dag hadde jeg veldig lite lyst til å dra på trening, men dro allikevell, og det er jeg stykt glad for nå. Jeg trente bein, og det ble den beste økta jeg har hatt hele uka 🍑🔥 - Prøver å lure meg selv unna med å fortelle meg selv at jeg ikke vil «bygge meg større nå», men det er da jeg må huske at jeg ikke gjør dette for utseende.
