When I first started working out in the gym I was so afraid of other people lookin at me and judging me. I signed up to two gyms: once for weight lifting, one for cardio. I went two times a day when the gyms were almost empty (before they closed or at 10.30 am). I I was a beginner with an irrational fear to do something wrong. “What if people think i'm a moron?” “What if I’m doing it wrong?” I used to stress about it all 🤔 It took me a few months to be more confident. And then I started not to care. I studied a lot, I tried a lot and failed a lot too🧜🏼‍♀️ I know it’s hard but remember that nobody cares about what you’re doing with your barbell! 🏋🏻‍♀️ Be confident and improve yourself! 💗💗 . ‼️WORTH THE READ‼️ There’s going to be a time when it all clicks. For me it finally clicked when I was 21, doing nothing but binge watching Netflix shows, going to work, eating, and sleeping. I was tired of feeling tired. Tired of feeling lazy and achy, uncomfortable and unhappy with myself. I would always talk to myself and tell myself how I wanted to lose weight and that I would do something about it but I never took the actual step. I would never tell anyone that I wanted to lose weight besides my close friends because I didn’t want to say i was going start trying and then not actually do it. The day it clicked was the day I DID SOMETHING. No thinking, just doing because I am one of the biggest procrastinators and I would have over thought the whole thing if I didn’t do something right then and there. For me, weight loss shakes were my go to. ONLY because I was beyond picky and I would never try “healthy food” as most of you know, I did start with Herbalife and I’m not going to bash them because they did do me good. HOWEVER, if you know how to portion control, balance and eat healthy, I RECOMMEND EATING REAL FOOD FOR YOUR MEALS. Since day one I exercised. I started with something as simple as walking EVERY NIGHT for about 2-3 miles. Finally gained the courage to get a gym membership because walking was getting boring and i wanted to do more. (best decision ever) had a trainer for 3 month (Bc let’s be honest, I had no idea what I was doing in a gym) and again one of the best decisions because I was taught how to workout the right way and feel confident about doing it! I am no professional when It comes to working out, nutrition, or even weight loss. But, I DO know that if you put your mind to something and stay consistent, YOU WILL see results. It may take awhile and it can be THE MOST frustrating thing in the world but all of it is WELL worth it in the end. STAY POSITIVE, BE PATIENT, AND ENJOY THE JOURNY!!!💪🏽 . Well you are not alone! - 🍒There are many things you can tweak to get on the road to healthy eating - 🍐Eat more vegetables. Have half your plate of vegetables at every meal. Make sure you stock up on veggies because you are going to go through a bunch of them!😋 - 🍹Limit Alcohol-Look, alcohol can have a lot of calories and rarely do we ever stop at just one drink. So while you may not have to cut it out completely, limiting your alcohol consumption could save hundreds (maybe thousands)of calories in a given week depending on what and how much you drink - 💦Drink more water-We all know the benefits of drinking water, but most of us don’t drink enough. READ THIS! ✋🏻✋🏻🛑🛑✋🏻✋🏻🔥 So on a personal level, I hit my lean target today of 80kg 😁 🏆 🔥👊🏻 The next phase for me is to begin to add some clean volume to my muscles. By clean, I mean to add as much clean muscle without adding too much fat! This is often referred to as a ‘clean bulk’ 👈🏻 whereby you increase your deficit intake to maintenance for a couple of weeks (helps your body to cope with the change of more food etc) then after a couple of weeks begin to add some extra calories but NOT EATING EVERYTHING IN SIGHT!! 🍗 🍚 🎣 personally I’ll be aiming for around 300-500 into surplus. Undertaking this method means you can train at high intensity even when the diet will be low carb this is to limit glucose refuelling or re-setting as this is what the body requires towards the end of high intensity training. Last night was absolutely incredible! One of the best nights of my life and I got to spend it with some of my absolute favorite people. . I’m trying to come up with the words to describe the way I feel and it’s something I’ve never truly felt. Just utter fulfillment and so full of joy I could burst! I never knew how much I needed a tribe of women like this in my life until so met these ladies. I never understood when people said you just find “your people”, like who are “my people”?! THESE are MY PEOPLE! I feel on top of the world and like I’m EXACTLY where I am supposed to be being surrounded by these women. It gives me chills quite honestly. . PLEASE READ!! 🛑🛑🛑✋🏻✋🏻✋🏻 Snacks! 🍫 🍰 These can literally make or break your plan when attempting to stay within a caloric deficit. My ‘Go To’ snack used to be crisps and supposed Healthy bars. I was completely blind to the fact that these snacks where accounting for 30-40% of my daily allowance without even considering them as actual food!!!! So 3 meals on top of that and I was comfortably consuming 3000 cals per day. That’s enough to gain 1lb of body fat EVERY SINGLE WEEK!!! Twinned with the fact that my output was virtually nil apart from my working day. Recipe for body disaster right there! Fast forward to today and I still snack, but my snacks are the ones on the right!! Fruit, Greek Yoghurt, Coffee, protein shake and 💦 WATER!! This is nice little article, all aspects of training have there place 💯 Repost @ivicafridrih with @get_repost ・・・ 👇CALORIE BURN COMPARISON👇 - I always discuss how cardio should never be your main priority while trying to lose fat and that is mainly because you can undo all the burned calories in a few minutes. In other words, if your diet is not on point no matter how much cardio you do, you won't lose any fat. 🍳 - That doesn't mean you shouldn't incorporate cardio into your routine. In fact, I recommend you do so for the cardiovascular health but it shouldn't be your main priority and you shouldn't overdo it. 👍 - On the picture I compared six common cardio alternatives and calories burned are based on the 155lb person doing these activities for an hour. ✌ - My advice is to first prioritize nutrition, then strength training because it will change your body composition, and lastly some cardio. 🙌 - That's pretty much it! When you’re stuck at home with a sickness bug and high temp (no workout 🤦🏾‍♀️😩) I start to dream of what goodness I’ll be feeling myself with when I’m better. If you don’t look this happy when you lift weights, I would definitely suggest that you experiment with other forms of resistance training like body weight exercises, CrossFit, trx, kettle bell etc, until you find something that you genuinely enjoy. . It will be so much easier to stick with it and get the results you want, when you find enjoyment in your resistance training. . P.s. I don’t always look this happy when I’m lifting weights, but I do enjoy every minute of it. at Edmonton, Alberta
