Ok....so was just going to post this on my stories until I took a bite....it deserves a straight up spotlight!!!! Every part of this sandwich was spot on and so good. If you haven't tried @novelbreads and you are from the North of Pittsburgh, you have to try this bread. It's a Beer Sourdough Rye Bread....🤤🤤🤤 Then while you are getting your bread on Sundays from 1-5 at @enchantedoliveharmony you need to grab yourself some of the Baklouti Green Chili Pepper Olive Oil. I used it to roast these red peppers and damn....it's what dreams are made of! Like for real! Pair all that with some fresh #organic spinach from @freshthyme and then add on the smokey flavor of some homemade tempeh bacon and slather your Rye with some light mayo or #vegan mayo and you have the most epic sandwich of all time!!!! Salsa pesto : • 40 Gr de hojas de espinaca • 15 Gr de hojas de albahaca • cebolla (yo usé 30gr) • 1 diente pequeño de ajo • ají amarillo 20 gr sin vena ni pepa • 30 Gr de queso fresco (yo usé sbelt de laive) • 1 cdas de aceite de oliva • 3 cdas de bebida de almendras (o leche) 🥬sofreír la cebolla junto con el ají amarillo y el ajo. Siempre sin aceite y agregando ahí de a pocos para que no se queme. Luego cuando ya este sofrito le agregamos la espinaca y albahaca para que se cocine también. Retiramos del fuego y dejamos enfriar un rato. En la licuadora verteremos el sofrito que hicimos, le agregamos el queso fresco,la bebida de almendras, y el aceite de oliva. Rectificamos la sazón con sal y orégano (poquito) y listo ya lo tienen listo para agregar a sus pastas y lo que deseen. Celebrating #toasttuesday with REAL BREAD 😱 not gonna lie, even as a dietitian who tells people all the time to include whole grains in their diet, I’m not one to actually practice what i preach in this department. • Ive had a weird relationship with grains for the longest time. Not saying I don’t love them (this girl can scarf down sourdough like it’s nobody’s business), I guess I’m just always thinking there are better options 🤷‍♀️like I could use sweet potato for toast, or chickpea pasta instead of grain-based pasta. • I’m slowly starting to change this mindset by including more quality grains in my diet because I think they do have a place. One of the quality grains I’ve recently become obsessed with is SPROUTED bread😍 • FUN FACT: The germinating process breaks down some of the starch making the percentage of available nutrients in sprouted bread higher. It also breaks down phytate, a form of phytic acid that normally decreases absorption of vitamins and minerals in the body.
