Aujourd'hui repos ! 🌸 Je post rarement des photos lorsque je me repose mais prendre des jours off de la salle c'est important. . 🌸 J'ai passé la moitié de la journée sans mon bandage au doigt et la douleur a presque totalement disparue ! . 🌸 Je vais quand même éviter les entraînements du hauts du corps pendant une petite semaine supplémentaire histoire de ne pas forcer dessus trop rapidement.... 5 Key Principles To Help You Continually Progress! . 1: Follow a specific training plan! . In order for you to progress and reach the goals that you have in mind you need to have a specific plan. The plan needs to take these goals into consideration and be tailored for you as an individual. Very often people download random plans available on the internet and while they may provide some results they will not be as beneficial as having a set routine that is specific to you, your training age, goals, capabilities along with many more factors. . 2: Log your weights within your training session! . One of the most valuable tools you can to do ensure you are progressing is log the weights you are using within each training session. This will give you a clear understanding as to where your current strength levels are and from there you will have data that you can strive to beat each session. Note, weight is not the only indicator to progression. Simply getting an extra rep or two, preforming an exercise with better technique or simply being able to feel a muscle work better are all key variables that will dictate how you are progressing. . “What gets measured gets managed” . 3: Don’t overlook rest days! . Training is super important. However, rest days are also important in order for the body rest, recovery & adapt so you can go into the following session feeling strong & motivated. Use rest days to do something productive that will benefit your training sessions such as some light aerobic work, mobility work or yoga. . 4: Keep the weekends within reason! . A huge factor why people don’t get the results they deserve is because they blow the weekends out of proportion. It is perfectly fine to have the odd meal out or a beer or two here and there. However, blowing things out of proportion & going completely off of your nutrition plan, over indulging on alcohol & doing no form of activity over the weekend is a recipe for disaster. Talking about grief has given me my power back. It is uncomfortable, people get awkward, they think I'm 'hanging on' or 'can't let go'. But anyone who has been in that black, numbing darkness knows you don't forget. Forever grief is a show of unconditional love. . I love out loud. And if my grief is a reflection of that love why would I invalidate it by letting it live in the shadows? You don't necessarily have to be public about it - but don't let it live in a place of shame. Or let it be diminished because of the discomfort of others. . You can move forward (not a fan of the phrase 'moving on') and live a life of purpose, purpose built from pain. Two variations of a puppy pose, both open up the shoulders and chest, and help with the spine’s flexibility. One is a passive pose and the second one is an active pose. Neither is better than the other. Don’t focus on how advance your poses are in your practice but rather how they feel. Focus on being able to breathe in the pose and listen to your body, it’s your greatest teacher. I love both of these variations, but to be honest with you I do the first one way more often than the second one! What’s your favourite puppy pose?
