Who are you trying to hide from?
You can run, but you cannot hide.
That's a pretty scary thought, actually. One that I have been wrestling with for some time now. And it is very fitting that the devotional today took me back to one of my favorite passages. It is not a "let's all feel good about ourselves and our position in life" passage. Rather, it's a pretty straightforward plea for help from the only One who can redeem us from the depths of the sin we are in.
My takeaways from Palm 139:
1. My knowledge and understanding of God is so pathetic that twice the writer mentions how difficult it is to understand Him.
2. The chapter starts and ends with God searching my soul. Let's face it folks, He's not surprised by what He sees.
3. Just when I think I have found a place where God will not go, I turn around and there He is.
4. Praise is due to the LORD God! For He knows every weakness, He knows every burden, and He refuses to stop pursuing me.
Ponder that for a while and see if The Spirit doesn't convict you somehow.
