Chloe has been learning how to feel comfortable wearing a muzzle so that we can use this great options to help her stay safe around her sister and other dogs in sticky situations involving personal space and valuable resources like food and toys. 🐾 Chloe’s fabulous Mom has already thought ahead and has been doing this work with her at home! So in the video, I’m just continuing on with that work by using the muzzle as a food bowl and having Chloe stick her nose in there to eat her meals. Once comfortable with this, I then move on to doing up the straps while continuing to feed her through the muzzle. After lots of conditioning like this, Chloe has become super comfy with the muzzle, so our next step will be having her wear it around casually while we’re working on other things to keep her used to wearing it and feeling comfortable like she does with any of her other clothes, collars or jackets. Happy Thursday! I officially started my new job as an Inbound Marketing Specialist this Monday so it’s been a busy week 🤪 • BUT I make time to workout because it’s so important to me... when I don’t workout my mental health definitely takes a hit and it isn’t good.. you can ask @dereklamb5 about it 😂 • So the routine is: Wake up at 5:10 AM Workout 5:50-7 AM Make breakfast and get ready for the day and I’m in my chair working by 8:30 AM🙆🏼‍♀️ I guess I should also mention that I get to work from home! It’s so convenient but I still work 8:30 AM to 5-6 ish PM so I have to get my workout in beforehand or I won’t go👊🏼 • This #gymshark66 challenge is still pushing me to make consistency a habit. You won’t always be motivated so the discipline needs to be there in order to see results! If it’s important to you - you make time. ⭐️ • And some days you won’t make it. Tuesday night I was just exhausted so I decided to rest Wednesday and sleep in an extra hour. It didn’t ruin my week whatsoever and I’m still on track. More importantly, my physical and mental health were back 100% today after taking a day off! Just remember you don’t have to be perfect. When I left my job over a year ago, I felt like I lost a part of myself, but now I know I was being led down the path of my true calling. So far this journey has been filled with personal growth, self-discovery, and spiritual development.Stepping out, believing in yourself, and just trusting God are some of the most challenging things we will ever do in this life. Bella and I had a fun session today working on her obedience commands using the remote collar or ‘invisible leash’ as a communication tool to show her how to recall without a place cot to aim for and how to hold a down/stay on the wide floor. It’s much easier for a dog to learn to recall to a place cot (after they’ve been taught the place command) and to hold command on the cot because it has a defined boundary which makes it obvious when they are in command. But when we move to more open recalls, with a down/stay in the floor, it can seem a bit more difficult for the dog. 🐾 In the video, you’ll see me using Bella’s remote collar as a communication tool, the same way I’d use a long line to give guidance, to show her how to recall to just a person and how to hold a down/stay with no cot/bed. As Bella puzzles out what I’m asking her for and tries out different options like going past me towards the dog bed (because that’s what we have previously been practicing), I use low level remote collar to guide her towards me instead and then into a down/stay. At this stage in the obedience part of our sessions, our work is about teaching the dog through communication and guidance as they are trying to puzzle out and learn what the human wants through a bit of trial and error! This is real life. It isn’t always pretty 😂 Some days it’s a spoon in the peanut butter jar 😂 . . . But that’s life. Life is all about balance. . . I get so many questions about what I eat and how to eat “well”. . . I don’t eat gluten, sugar or dairy (too much) because my body doesn’t handle it all it. It makes me sick! . . You DONT have to cut any of that out if you don’t want to! That’s what’s so awesome, you will learn how to eat, what to eat, when to eat and still incorporate what you love and STILL get results!! You will also learn your body and what it can handle. . . So often we jump into a “diet” and fail because we think we have to stick to it 100% and we have to eat only sticks and leaves. We end up starving ourselves and either starting an eating problem because that leads to binging or we fail. I was there! I developed such an unhealthy eating problem. Let me help you get out of it! . . I eat 80/20. Which means I still enjoy my food! But if I eat a candy bar I don’t give up on myself, I enjoy it! I found this dress some months back, completely fell in love, and regretted not buying it ever since. Moral of the story, if you love it... buy it dammit! But in other news, it’s peak + pit time. Peak: I have the entire morning off today! Do I even have to elaborate any further?! As someone who works six or seven days a week - this feels like a whole weekend to me! So you know I’m taking it seriously; bring on the puppy cuddles, sweat pants, and coffee cause I’ll be catching up on my reading and lounging on the couch until further notice. Pit: I’m in a space right now where I have been so overwhelmed/focused on things going on in my real life that my engagement with this lovely IG community has fallen to the wayside. I haven’t been shooting any photos or writing at all lately and I am missing that creative outlet a ton. Returning from a long weekend away, the last thing I will do is step on the scale... I know good & well by how I feel that the scale will show me heavier than I was before my trip. I ate & drank things that I knew would cause inflammation. I was off my sleep & fitness routines. I didn’t drink as much water as usual.
