Ya know, being in a deficit is the main thing and of course, knowing that you should be in a deficit is half of the battle but how do you actually ensure that you’re in a deficit? - These 6 practical tips will definitely helps you make being in a deficit a little easier!! - Protein helps you being satiated for longer times. So definitely use this to your advantage. - I do think having a salad with protein a day will most likely lower your carb intake and thus your total caloric intake. Not to say that carbs are bad, but it’s just another easy way to eat less calories during the day! - Having protein snacks on hand instead of highly palatable (carb and fat) snacks will help you a lot, especially with satiety and your overall daily protein intake. Also, if you normally eat a snickers bar as a snack and switch to protein bar or shake, you’ll probably see a significant calorie reduction too. - Caffeine is a hunger suppressant, you probably already know this, but use it to your advantage. - AND keeping your meals simple is a HUGE one. I do see lots of people eating meals consisting out of 25 ingredients, no wonder keeping track of your nutrition is so hard for you. And the great thing is lads there are a few things we can consider to help maximize it.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Basal Metabolic Rate - most of the calories you’re burning during the day, are expended just to keep your body functioning regardless of whether you exercise or even move at all. Most of the calorie consumption here is used just to keep you functioning as a sound human. Remember to be sound humans folks!!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ After that comes N.E.A.T. - What the.? Nope, we didn't just make this up. Non- Exercise Activity Thermogenesis - basically this is the calories you burn when you are not sleeping, eating or training. It could be walking to work, typing at your desk, or even fidgeting. So it makes sense to be as active with day to day tasks as possible. 👉Here’s what I recommend. Start by cleaning up your diet. Get rid of the sugar and processed food. Load up on fruits, veggies, lean protein, and lots of water. That’s step one. After that, focus on short, high intensity bouts of exercise. Use resistance training and metabolic conditioning. Also, do as much walking as you can. Brisk walking is one of the ultimate secret weapons for getting rid of stubborn fat, especially when done in conjunction with a higher intensity exercise regimen.

☝️Stress and sleep are the other major factors. Belly fat is often referred to as “stress fat” for a reason. Poor sleep and an overly nervous or excited lifestyle can attribute to fat accumulation in your lower stomach, love handles, etc. So be sure to have a good sleep hygiene protocol and ways of relaxing throughout the day. Even just the occasional cat nap would be a good idea. 🤧Meditation, too, can be quite beneficial. --

The chicken is crazy flavorful. : Total calories: 300 ish Protein: 44 grams Carbs: 22 grams Fat: 4 grams : Marinade: Zest - 1 lemon Juice - 2 lemons Garlic - 2 cloves minced Olive oil - 2 TBSP : Chicken - 1.5 lbs(or whatever is close) cut lengthwise to make grilling time shorter. 4 weeks into my “non-diet” diet. Aka: eat significantly more intentionally. I track my protein intake but nothing else. I’d guess that I’m consuming around 300g of carbs per day and 70g of fat. Adding roughly 1000cal to my day⁣ ⁣ I’m up roughly 6 pounds. Strength is increasing and I feel generally great. ⁣ ⁣ I’m often asked, “how long will it take for me to look like you”. The answer is: never. I have my own genetics and it’s taken 7 years and 3 pregnancies, multiple injuries/surgeries/setbacks. ⁣ ⁣ Many women could do it faster and add more muscle but at 5’8” I’m very happy for what my “noodle” (ectomorph) body has done. ⁣ ⁣ The real secret to this process is:⁣ 1. Everyone take notice of this post. It’s not “sexy” but it’s going to turn your life around. We need to focus more on our back side and less on the front side. 2019... postures are getting worse and worse by the day. We are always on our phone, watching tv, sitting too much and on our computers. Start focusing on improving your back muscles to improve posture. It is so important for us to consistently work on these muscles. 2:1 pull to push ratio should be stuck in your mind moving forward. Here are my favourite Trx back exercises that should be programmed into all workouts moving forward. Try 3 sets of 10-15 per exercise. Do this 2-3 times a week and watch your posture, core and way of life improve! I didn’t mention that strengthening the back will lead to stronger shoulders and healthier shoulders!! What I eat in a day: On a High Carb Cut Day 😜🍠🥙💪 . . PRE-WORKOUT 7AM- Egg White Zucchini Baked Cinnamon Oats with PB. . POST-WORKOUT 11AM- Chicken & Red Pepper Hummus Toasted Pita w/ Poppyseed Salad. . SNACK 2PM- Sweet Potato Toast w/ Powdered PB & Chia Seeds. . DINNER 6PM- Cheesy Chicken, Sweet Potato, & Green Beans. . DESSERT 9PM- PB&J Protein Smoothie Bowl. . . Swipe 👈for macros & meal deets😋 . . So yes, you read that right! I started a 6 week cut this week! I haven’t been in a calorie deficit since last April & I ended that cut at the leanest & strongest I had ever been! I felt so good & even confident enough to take a break from tracking for 6 months to just try to maintain but had some life circumstances(injury that took me out of the gym a few months, hormonal issues, traveling, & the holidays) that while I’m actually only up 4 lbs from my last cut I’ve definitely lost muscle & strength & have gained some fat…& that’s ok. I have to give myself & my body grace in knowing that I have done the BEST that I can/could & that going through those experiences had me learn & live A LOT! But now it’s time to trim up a bit 😉💪 . . Ok, so what the heck is a High Carb Cut day?! So being on a “cut” means being in a calorie deficit, & I call it a “minicut” because it’s a set 6 week period vs an extended weight loss phase. The calories are aggressive for me & set MY specific goals so please don’t think that these are necessarily a good match for just anyone to lose fat on. . . Above’s eats are considered a “high carb” day which I’m doing 4 days a week on my strength training days & then doing 3 higher fat days on my off days. Carb Cycling ISN’T a magic macro tool but the reason I like it is because I can get in a good amount of carbs around my workouts to really fuel them & muscle recover, & then on my high fat days I can have a good portion of healthy fats! I also will typically have my higher fat days on the weekend which I’ve found is easier since I will eat out & it’s WAY easier to make a meal lower carb (salads, lettuce wrap, protein & veggies) vs low fat since restaurants will also cook in oil. I’ll try to post a higher fat full day of eats next week😘🥑🥜🧀

I lay out my clothes for work, for the gym, get my supplements together, cook my food, enter the WHOLE day in MyFitnessPal, and keep it all easily accessible so I can grab and go. I also only keep food that will keep me on track for my goals in my house and pack my meals for the day and have enough snacks as well.
