[10/13] VOLCANO HORSES: Johnny and Rocky wait patiently as Mount Bromo spits ash into the sky behind. These horses have a sixth sense, they know when an eruption is imminent and warn their masters, according to the Tenggerese horsemen. [09/13] VOLCANO HORSES: Tenggerese horseman Sumartono,45, with his horse Saptoaji wake up to take tourists for sunrise tours each morning on the Sea Of Sand Plateau, Mount Bromo. I tried to capture them as the same being, such is the dependency of the Tenggerese people on their horses. [08/13] VOLCANO HORSES: Tenggerese horseman Mrndik Suwandi, 45, with his horse Johnny, 10, stand on the Sea Of Sand Plateau in the shadow of Mount Bromo. The Tenggerese horses don't wear shoes, which are seen as expensive, unnecessary and uncomfortable, according to Mrndik. [05/13] VOLCANO HORSES: Horseman Suwandi says he feeds his horse Johnny about 20 eggs a day. "He needs the protein for strength. He has a tough job to do." Johnny and Suwandi wake seven days a week at 3am to take tourists on horseback to the top of mountains in the Bromo region. Johnny is then put to work in the fields, ploughing and transporting crops and supplies. A Bromo Volcano Horse's life is all about work. [15/15] LE MANS RACERS: This is Vince eating his Maggie noodles. He's the tyre man for Clearwater Racing and this photo was taken three hours from the finish of the 24 Hours Of Le Mans. He was tired, as all the crew were, without sleep. This was the first time Vince and the rest of the Singapore-based team had been to Le Mans. After securing pole position in qualifying they narrowly missed out on a podium and finished fourth in the race. Vince and a few of the others guys cried at the finish. For many racers and crew the 24 Hours Of Le Mans is the pinnacle of their careers. Qualifying and even finishing is a huge achievement. I really like this photo of Vince. In the middle of one of the world's biggest sporting events, surrounded by multimillionaires, celebrities, thousands of fans and European food, Vince takes a quiet moment to enjoy his Maggie noodles. I think he ate at least five pots. Vince and the team from Singapore vow to be back next year at Le Mans. We hope to see them there. [10/15] LE MANS RACERS: This is a photo about luck. These youngsters had been drinking and leaning out of their windows, singing and watching the drivers' parade go by. When Clearwater Racing's car drove past driver Rob Bell started throwing beer mats high into the air in the hope one would reach the third floor. After four attempts, he nailed it as this one went straight into the window on the left and gave these people a memento from the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The crowd below went mad. [06/06] BROMO BURNS: Mount Bromo is one of Indonesia's most active volcanoes. For the 90,000 Tenggerese tribespeople who live in the surrounding mountains an eruption isn't a natural event, it's spiritual. The Hindu tribe believe gods inhabit the volcano. At the annual Yadnya Kasada festival hundreds of locals throw animals sacrifices into the crater for the gods to feast on. [03/06] BROMO BURNS: Our friend Surpi and national park ranger Suyano debate whether an eruption is imminent at Mount Bromo. Suyano, who mans a small outpost overlooking the caldera, says the volcano gods are not happy when Bromo is "coughing". But he says their spiritual leader, a Hindu priest called Manku, tells the Tenggerese tribe when it is safe and when to leave the area. [08/08] STILT FISHERMEN: Samaat welcomes us into his home where we meet his family. His son is now all grown up, off making a living in Colombo running a tour company specialising in surf tours. Samaat says for him family is his life. He likes stilt fishing still but he only does it for a hobby and to catch fish for dinner. During the day he mainly works fixing boats. Life is family. "My life is simple," he says. I want food for my family and my daughter to go to school. That is all." [06/08] STILT FISHERMEN: Samaat and his neighbour each have their own perch. No one else would try fish there as locals know this is Samaat's spot. As the sun blazes over the horizon it's a strangely relaxing scene. It's no wonder the iconic image of men fishing from stilts has captivated so many people around the world for years. It's a visual representation of man adapting to nature by modest means. [05/08/] STILT FISHERMEN: "It hurts my bum and back. It's a bad way to fish to be honest," says Samaat, one of the last stilt fishermen in southern Sri Lanka. Samaat comes here at dusk most days with his neighbour. His catch is meagre. Enough for dinner for his family and then he goes home. [04/08] STILT FISHERMEN: Meet Samaat. One of the last of Sri Lanka's stilt fishermen. He fishes every day at a small stretch of beach opposite his house. "I know those other men pretend to be stilt fishermen. I don't care. What of it? If they can earn money from the white people then they can do that. I fish for dinner and to relax." [03/08] STILT FISHERMEN: Most of the stilt fishermen have ventured out to sea in search of bigger catch while others have joined the tourism industry. Whale watching tours are now big business for the local economy, with blue whales found off the south coast of the island nation. Tourism and deep sea fishing is simply more lucrative than the dated tradition of stilt fishing. [01/08] STILT FISHERMEN: The tradition of stilt fishing is fading into obscurity in Sri Lanka. It has now entered the chapter that many dying traditions slip into: the tourist sideshow. The men pictured are a few of dozens who line the beaches of Welligama not to fish, but for tourist dollars. [01/08] More photos follow... A Sri Lankan elephant in full regalia is prepared for a march on the streets of Colombo. The eyes tell the story of an animal confined to the drudgery of human entertainment. Sri Lankan elephants have been listed as endangered since 1986. They are used widely in street processions in the capital and for manual labour. . . #photojournalism #documentaryphotography #elephants #srilanka #colombo #eyes #farfeatures #travel #reportage #everydayeverywhere #everydayasia #photodocumentary #reportagespotlight #reportagespotlight at Colombo, Sri Lanka

As part of our story on epilepsy we met Dr R.K. Surekha. He has dedicated his life to helping sufferers, especially in rural areas of India. One in every 300 people in Rajasthan suffer from the conditon. Lack of education about epilepsy means many people are thought to be possessed or insane. Dr Surekha is helping shatter these misconceptions with free clinics. Our full report coming soon. #epilepsyawareness #jaipur #photojournalism #india #documentlife #documentaryphotography #farfeatures #travel at Jaipur, Rajasthan
