Revelers at Heat Nightclub on Wednesday night were treated to a special appearance by the one and only Ariana Grande. While the pop princess didn't perform, she did appear to be enjoying the high-energy drag performers onstage. Patrons of the LGBTQ nightclub pulled out their phones to snap pictures and videos of the "thank u, next" singer.Pictures on social media show Grande, a well-known supporter of the LGBTQ community, with a phone in one hand to record performers and cash in the other, presumably to tip them. She briefly approached the stage to give one drag queen some praise. The singer even posted two short clips of the show to her Instagram story. Both clips show performers — including Nilaya Milan Mathews in a Grande-inspired look — lip-syncing to the singer's music.Grande's Heat visit comes ahead of her Friday evening show at the AT&T Center. #1000followers #lgbtqsupport #comments🎵💗 #explorepageworthy #lgbtqyouth #autocomments #lgbtqapride #explorepageedits #explorepage#followersrealindo #lgbtqfamily #explorepage🔥🔥🔥 #explorepage🤩 #explorepageviral #lgbtqpride #explorepage😍 #lgbtqcommunity #lgbtqrights #explorepageplease #lgbtq🌈 #commentsplease #comments😻 #lgbtqteens #explorepage✊🏾

Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) dropped by gay bar Blazing Saddle in Des Moines, Iowa on Friday night where she spent some quality time with the drag queens. The Democratic presidential hopeful hung out with the queens backstage at Blazing Saddle, known as the “Gay Cheers” since its 1983 opening, did her makeup with them and even lent one queen her dress.“Vana and the amazing queens at the Blazing Saddle in Des Moines invited me for a visit tonight before their show. I felt underdressed, so I brought a dress I picked up yesterday—turns out it fit me, but it fit Vana even better! Thank you for having me, ladies,” Gillibrand captioned a photo set of her night. Gillibrand will continue her support for the drag community when she sits down to discuss LGBTQ issues with drag queen and activist Marti Gould Cummings, who went viral for her “Baby Shark” brunch performance, on May 2 in New York City. “For the first time in the history of the United States a presidential candidate is sitting down one on one with a drag queen to discuss the issues,” Gould promoted the discussion on Twitter. #explorepage🔥🔥🔥 #lgbtq🌈 #comments🎵💗 #commentsplease #lgbtqcommunity #comments😻 #explorepage😍 #lgbtqpride #explorepageplease #explorepageviral #100followers #lgbtqplus #lgbtqteens #lgbtqyouth #lgbtqfamily #explorepagememes #lgbtqrights #lgbtqartist #lgbtqhistory #lgbtqaccount #explorepage✊🏾 #1000followers #lgbtqsupport #lgbtqlove

“We gather in anger at the death of our friend, at the murder of our friend. We gather in anger at those who seek to claim our streets and who disrespect our democracy," Seamus Dooley, Irish secretary of the NUJ told the crowd. “But tonight we also gather in celebration, in celebration of a feminist, an activist, a daughter, a sister, a lover, a journalist, a remarkable human being, a kind, compassionate, funny and caring person who brought light and laughter wherever she went, even as often she was angry, frustrated and mad as hell at those who refused to move at the pace which she would have them move." “A person who refused to accept that things had to be the way they were” Gloria, Dublin’s Gay and Lesbian choir sang ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow’ while singer Noel O’Grady sung a rendition of ‘The Island’. "A gentle innocent soul" "On Thursday, April 18 our beautiful Lyra was taken from us. A daughter, a sister, an aunt, a great-aunt, a partner, a niece, a cousin, and above all, a best friend and confidante to so many of us," her family said in a statement. "A friend to all, a gentle innocent soul who wouldn't wish ill on anyone. Such a warm and innocent heart, she was the greatest listener, someone who had time for everyone. She was a smart, strong-minded woman who believed in passionately in inclusivity, justice and truth. Lyra spoke to and made friends with anybody and everybody, no matter what their background, those of all political views and those with none" #explorepage🔥🔥🔥 #explorepage✊🏾 #lgbtqpride #lgbtqaccount #comments😻 #lgbtqyouth #explorepageviral #lgbtqfamily #lgbtq🌈 #dropcomments #explorepage😍 #lgbtqartist #1000followers #comments🎵💗 #lgbtqrights #activefollowers #lgbtqcommunity #lgbtqteens #lgbtqplus #1kfollowers #lgbtqhistory #lgbtqpride🌈 #lgbtqsupport #lgbtqlove

COLUMBUS, OH -- State taxpayer dollars are funding Ohio State University (OSU) Office of Cooperative Extension’s coopting the mission of the Ohio 4-H program to promote LGBT ideology over “positive youth development” and the objections of Ohio 4-H adult leaders, volunteers and parents. Nearly a year after OSU offered “confidential and financial” assistance to minors to attend the first “Ohio 4-H LGBTQ+ Summit,” and refused to confirm whether written parental permission was actually given, California LGBT policies are becoming firm policies in all of Ohio’s 88 counties.OSU is intent on silencing or driving away parents, employees or volunteers who believe that there are only two sexes, male and female, and that homosexuality and “transgenderism” are inappropriate subjects for impressionable children and have nothing to do with 4-H. Indeed, interim director of Ohio 4-H, Kirk Bloir has clearly said: “If parents or volunteers don’t like that, then we are not the program for them.” Ohio 4-H once reflected the values of the populations it serves. However, OSU is now using the program as a vehicle to enforce radical LGBT ideology and terminology, including the idea that pronouns are subjective, and do not correspond to objective biology of male or female.OSU is promoting mandatory use of other fake gender pronouns inconsistent with biological sex, including “Zie,” “Zir” and “Zirs.”OSU is requiring all Ohio children attending 4-H camps and other events to embrace LGBT “inclusion,” including sharing showers and sleeping facilities with opposite sex individuals who “identify” as another sex. OSU will house gender-confused boys with girls in overnight camp accommodations, with no knowledge or consent from the girls or their parents, and vice-versa for boys. #lgbtqyouth #explorepage🔥🔥🔥 #lgbtqpride🌈 #lgbtqsupport #lgbtqhistory #lgbtqplus #explorepageviral #lgbtqrights #comments💙 #comments😻 #lgbtqaccount #lgbtqpride #followersneeded #commentsplease #comments🎵💗 #lgbtqapride #lgbtq🌈 #followersfree #lgbtqteens #commentsbycelebs #lgbtqartist #lgbtqlove #lgbtqcommunity #lgbtqfamily

Donna Aceto, who over three decades of photographic work for LGBTQ and AIDS groups and media has left an indelible documentary history of New York queer life, began her career as did many who came of age in the ‘80s — a part of the community but closeted on the job, in her case on Wall Street.Still, the gravity of the HIV crisis drew her early into the fray, shooting the earliest AIDS Walks produced by Gay Men’s Health Crisis. Aceto was quickly enlisted for The Volunteer, GMHC’s widely circulated monthly newsletter, where in center photo spreads she chronicled everything from agency programs to the earliest Dyke Marches. The AIDS Walk recognized her work with an Outstanding Volunteer Award in 1991, and in 2004 she was inducted into the AIDS Walk Hall of Fame.At her day job, meanwhile, the hiding and the homophobia took their toll, and when she left she came out fully as a lesbian and entered the world of photojournalism, finding her true métier. In addition to her freelance work, she assumed posts as picture editor at prestigious titles such as LIFE and TIME. Her work for The Volunteer at GMHC led her to its Lesbian AIDS Project, an early response to the epidemic’s spread among women. Recalling that work, Aceto said, “To this day, I remain touched by how those women allowed my camera into their lives.” In 1998, Aceto was honored with the Lesbian AIDS Project Appreciation Award.Aceto has also done special event photography for a host of other community organizations, including the ACLU LGBT & HIV Project, the New York Civil Liberties Union, the New York Women’s Foundation, SAGE, Iris House, and Marriage Equality New York. She developed one of her proudest bonds with the late Edie Windsor. In the last year of Windsor’s life, Aceto presented her with a bound volume of gorgeous photos she shot of that extraordinary woman’s tireless activism. #lgbtqhistory #commentsbycelebs #explorepageviral #lgbtq🌈 #lgbtqaccount #lgbtqpride #followersfree #lgbtqfamily #lgbtqteens #comments💙 #lgbtqcommunity #lgbtqplus #lgbtqpride🌈 #lgbtqsupport #lgbtqlove #lgbtqartist #comments🎵💗 #comments😘 #lgbtqrights #explorepage🔥🔥🔥 #followersneeded #lgbtqyouth #comments😻 #commentsplease

The House Judiciary Committee held the first hearing ever on the Equality Act, and the Republican strategy against the bill was to focus on transgender people in sports while ignoring the vast majority of the bill. The Equality Act would add sexual orientation and gender identity to the Civil Rights Act of 1964, banning discrimination against LGBTQ people in employment, housing, public accommodations, and several other areas. Representative Jerrold Nadler (D-NY), who is also the chair of the committee, called the hearing.“Nearly 50 years after the Stonewall Uprising, there is still no federal law that explicitly prohibits millions of lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender Americans from being denied medical care, fired from their jobs, or thrown out of their homes simply because of who they are,” Nadler said in his opening remarks.“It is time Congress changes that.”Most of the witnesses supported the Equality Act.“Having gone through what I went through in the segregated South has sensitized me towards discrimination against anybody,” said Dennis Wiley, pastor of the Covenant Baptist United Church of Christ.“No two discriminations are the same… but it’s still discrimination.”Jami Contreras testified about her personal experience with discrimination. Last year, a doctor refused to treat Contreras’s daughter because her mothers are lesbians.Of the eight witnesses, only two spoke against the Equality Act. Julia Beck, a lesbian Trans-Exclusionary Radical Feminist (TERF) who has spoken at the far-right Heritage Foundation and on Fox News’s Tucker Carlson Tonight, said that she opposes including gender identity in the Equality Act.Beck thanked the Republicans on the committee for inviting her to the hearing.Duke Law School professor Doriane Lambelet Coleman said that she was only concerned with transgender women crowding cisgender women out of sports. #lgbtqrights #followersfree #comments💬 #lgbtqsupport #explorepageviral #followersgain #lgbtqpride #comments💙 #lgbtqlove #lgbtqaccount #lgbtqfamily #comments🎵💗 #lgbtqcommunity #comments😻 #commentsplease #lgbtqpride🌈 #lgbtqplus #lgbtqhistory #lgbtqyouth #lgbtqartist #lgbtq🌈 #explorepage🔥🔥🔥 #comments😘 #lgbtqteens

“It didn’t start as a career,” Nickie Antonio says of a political journey that began 13 years ago with her election to the Lakewood City Council and has since wound its way into Ohio’s history books. The 63-year-old was elected last fall and sworn in this January as the first out LGBTQ member of the Ohio Senate. That milestone came eight years after she took office in 2011 as the first out LGBTQ member of the Ohio House. But growing up in a working-class family in Northeast Ohio, Antonio wasn’t groomed to become one of the most ground-breaking and important figures in the Ohio General Assembly. People doubted her abilities throughout every step of her journey, but she says their skepticism only fueled her fire.“When I was a kid, I was told that I couldn’t go to college. The counselor knew my family didn’t have enough money to pay for it. But what he didn’t know was that I was determined and that I was going to figure out a way,” she says.“He was right. My family couldn’t afford it. But that didn’t mean that I couldn’t go. It just meant that I was going to have to be a little more creative, work a little harder and be a little more adaptive. In the end, I was going to accomplish what I set out to do.That’s sort of been a driving principle for my whole life.”Antonio—who, by the way, earned a bachelor’s and a master’s degree from Cleveland State University—is full of laughter and grace as she talks about life and politics. Even the most personal questions elicit chuckles and thoughtful answers that directly tie into her views on public policy. Her life is inherently political. As an out lesbian woman, wife and mother, her experience informs her push for LGBTQ-inclusive anti-discrimination laws, equal pay for equal work and adequate funding for public schools. #followersfree #lgbtq🌈 #lgbtqaccount #lgbtqlove #lgbtqfamily #lgbtqplus #comments🎵💗 #lgbtqapride #followersneeded #lgbtqcommunity #explorepage🔥🔥🔥 #commentsplease #comments😻 #lgbtqrights #lgbtqyouth #lgbtqartist #explorepageviral #comments😘 #lgbtqsupport #lgbtqpride #comments💙 #lgbtqteens #lgbtqhistory #lgbtqpride🌈

Jarett Lopez and Shelby Sanford will be NKU’s next Student Government Association president and vice president.Lopez and Sanford won 45 percent of 814 student votes for SGA’s top offices, followed by Trayonna Barnes and Ethan Craig (39 percent) and Janiah Miller and Lexi Anderson (16 percent). Lopez serves as the chair of SGA’s Academic Affairs Committee, and Sanford serves as an SGA justice. The pair ran on key academic points, including an initiative that would eliminate the A-, as well as expanding mental health and legal services available on campus.Other notable points of the Lopez-Sanford platform are extending Student Union dining hours, bringing state lawmakers to NKU and creating a legislative liaison position to bridge the gap between NKU and Frankfort. After the announcement in the Student Union Thursday night, junior political science major Lopez said he was “honored that the NKU student body chose me and Shelby to lead them.”For Lopez and Sanford, the next priority is getting set up for the coming year, and to finish the work on their “ending the A-” policy first.“That’s definitely already in the process, so I think it’s important that we step up and get that done really fast,” Sanford, junior public relations major, said.Lopez is no stranger to creating academic initiatives. As an SGA senator, he wrote a resolution for an Academic Excellence Committee for students, faculty and staff to create courses and programs. His honorary resolution celebrating the fifth anniversary of the Office of LGBTQ Programs and Services was also passed. As an SGA senator and justice, Sanford notably helped write and pass a menstrual product resolution.Sanford said the 2019 campaign ran smoothly between candidates.“There was really no tension between anybody,” Sanford said.“ I think it went as smooth as it possibly could have.” #lgbtqpride #comments😘 #lgbtqrights #commentsbycelebs #lgbtqyouth #lgbtqhistory #lgbtqcommunity #explorepage🔥🔥🔥 #comments🎵💗 #lgbtqpride🌈 #lgbtqlove #explorepageviral #followersreal #explorepage❤️ #comments💙 #lgbtqsupport #comments😻 #followersfree #lgbtqfamily #lgbtqplus #lgbtqteens #commentsplease #lgbtq🌈

Lynn Starkey, a guidance counselor at Roncalli High School, a Catholic school in Indianapolis has been fired from her job after a 39-year career because the school says her marriage to another woman is in breach of her contract. School officials say that Starkey’s contract will not be renewed for the 2019-2020 school year because both the school and city’s Archdiocese say that she breached her terms of employment when she entered into a same-sex civil union in 2015.“It’s a terrible way to cap off a 39-year career,” said Starkey’s attorney, Kathleen Delaney. “Starkey’s 39 years of exemplary employment, including Teacher of the Year recognition in 2009, will end because she is in a same-sex marriage and because she filed discrimination complaints.”According to WBTV, the discrimination complaint filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission as of November 2018 claims Starkey was discriminated against on the basis of her sexual orientation.Shelly Fitzgerald, the co-director of the guidance department at Roncalli with Starkey, was also placed on leave after 15 years in August 2018 when school officials learned she was in a same-sex marriage.Starkey says two days later, Principal Chuck Weisenbach asked Starkey if she had a civil union, and she answered truthfully that she does.Starkey’s lawyer feels both Fitzgerald and Starkey have been singled out by the school.“There are more than 60 schools in the Archdiocese of Indianapolis and thousands of employees. Shelly Fitzgerald and Lynn Starkey are the only ones we know of who have been asked, ‘Are you violating church teachings?’” Delaney said, according to WBTV.com.Delaney filed paperwork with EEOC on Monday as a precedent to a lawsuit, restating the claim of a hostile work environment and discrimination. #followersneeded #lgbtqaccount #comments🎵💗 #lgbtqfamily #explorepage#explorepageplease #comments😻 #followers10000 #lgbtqteens #lgbtqartist #explorepage😍 #explorepage🔥🔥🔥 #lgbtq🌈 #lgbtqcommunity #followersreal #comments💬 #comments💙 #commentsplease #comments😘 #followersfree #comments🎵 #lgbtqhistory #lgbtqpride🌈
