I've had a lot that I wanted to express about this health and fitness journey I am on, so I decided to share some of the lessons learned over the past 6 months…
Lesson #1: The way you fuel your body is the way you fuel your workouts and recovery. You honestly cannot expect results if you are not fueling your body properly. I feel better when I eat better. Oh and if you know me you know you don't want to get me started on a tangent about water 🙈🤣 Lesson #2: Find a way to be active that you genuinely enjoy. By doing this you will feel more self-motivated to get up and get it done. For me this is running, biking, and rock climbing🏃♀️ Lesson #3: As a runner, cross training is just as valuable as mileage. I've been a runner forever, but as an adult I realized that I only improved in my running when I began to implement cross training- thank you at home workouts 💪
Lesson #4: Change doesn't happen over night, it takes time and hard work. You have to be willing to work for what you want, but it is possible 💙
Lesson #5: Listen to your body. Learn to identify the difference between sore muscles and an injury. Learn to identify the difference between feeling lazy and mentally/emotionally not be able to give your typical 100%. This is all about balance in your own journey that is 100% unique to you, listen to your body and mind, it will help 🤗
Lesson #6: Find a community that supports you through the good and bad moments. I have my online fitness group, I have a few running groups I participate in, I have friends I meet up with in person, and I have my family. All of these networks support me in different ways, but all in ways that I am so grateful for. 😀
Of course, there are additional lessons, but I will save those for another post.
I hope this helps you keep things in perspective, regardless of where you are in your health and fitness journey 💜 if you are in need of a community I have quite a few I can connect you with, let's talk!
